How did you get the battery to fit in the "Oil Tank." did you use a smaller battery? Im doing much the same thing as yours but I cant get my battery box to look right and I love the way yours looks
Recently sold the bike to a guy who lives in the mountains.. Sold for $5500.. Too low honestly, considering the number of hours in the bike.. Here is a link to some more info
@Jtechim Cool bike, don't get me wrong I like it and a guy who fixes up old Yamahas I respect your work but I am surprised it sold for $5500. You NEVER get close to the amount you put into it with a custom bike. I really like the bike but for $5500 I'd look elsewhere to be honest but I am glad you sold it and hope the new buyer loves it!
Dude if you ever want to sell this, or even build another, let me know! Im in denver and have been looking at doing an XJ bobber and yours is my favorite I have found!
maquina inpresionante!!!!! yo tengo una igual pero me fallan los carburadores 120 y 40 igual falla explosion en los carburadores QUE BUJIA LLEVA???? eso muy inportante espero me puedas ayudar...
Yes, the coils are under the tank, however I made custom mounting tabs for both coils that sets them one in front of the other, as opposed to side by side..
Nice bike! Can you give me any information on the shocks you're using? I've got a Nighthawk project that I'm working on and those shocks would be perfect for what I'm going for. You mention Ebay, if you could hook me up with the vendor or help me out with what to look for I'd be grateful, thanks!
@therealblankman Honestly I don't remember the name of the vendor, but you can search ebay under "pit bike" or "mini moto" and you should be able to find something similar.
@SCAREDofSTICKS Smaller as far as narrower or height? Width would sure affect front end grip through faster turns, but the height shouldn't matter much...
I have this same bike with just 9000 miles. And i really want to invest some money. Honestly i want to leave it close to ^^that beauty^^

@Jtechim My friend, this is amazing.
You wouldn't happen to be willing to shed some light on how you went about the shaping that masterpiece of a rear on that beauty??

did you lower the front end at all? i got one of these too and and trying to "level it out" a bit...
SCAREDofSTICKS 2 years ago
Yes, all I did was push the fork tubes through the top triple clamp about an inch. It really helps the look..

Did it sharpen up the handling any?
newengland72 2 years ago
@newengland72 I would say yes, the steering was definitely more direct, however it was still a bit soft for spirited riding..

i wish i could keep going? would a smaller front tire mess me up a ton?
