The studio ruined 2:56, I think it sounded so much better live when she had the little run after she hit that note. That was my favorite part of her live performance :(
Nice cover. Miss Bonnie will always be the best, but she does a great job for a 17-year-old. Also, this single definitely needs less production. There are too many instruments. This song, in particular, does not need a full orchestra. Or, more accurately, a fake full orchestra.
Several things amaze me about this performance: (i) she took a song that I wasn't crazy about and made it one that still gives me chills every time I hear it; (ii) her control of the "quiet" notes is just exceptional, especially considering her young age; and (iii) her slight rephrasings are beautiful, such as on the repetition of "patronize" in the first verse, as well as on the phrase "if you don't" in the chorus. Allison, hearing you sing is such a blessing!
I remember watching her on American Idol from the UK, she was just incredible and this song is sung so beautifully, it really is! She's done well for herself after Idol, I hope her career continues! :D

Several things amaze me about this performance: (i) she took a song that I wasn't crazy about and made it one that still gives me chills every time I hear it; (ii) her control of the "quiet" notes is just exceptional, especially considering her young age; and (iii) her slight rephrasings are beautiful, such as on the repetition of "patronize" in the first verse, as well as on the phrase "if you don't" in the chorus. Allison, hearing you sing is such a blessing!
