  • Usd Amir Hussain Sahib ki chant aur lau bahut roshan thi. Ye 4th/ 5th black ka tabla pahle bajaya jata tha jiski lau sureeli hoti thi. Aajkal teep ki tabliya baj rahi hai ............tabaliya koi bhi bajaye , kucch der ke baad kanon ko chubhne lagti hai .Badi muhar 6-7-8 inch ke table hi tanpure ki tarah bolte hain aur meditational sound paida karte hain.

  • Thanks for this Sharing and posting for me to hear something you always look for opportunity

  • he is playing dual Taal, jo beginners hain of tabla, this is a must listen for them..... beautiful tempo....

  • Unfortunately I only have a cassette recording of this great album done with Ustad Ahmed Jaan Thirakwa. I rate the Roopak Taal done by Ustas Amir as the greatest roopak taal solo Ive heard . Where can i buy the original album ?

  • what a great ustad he is. very nice i love it.

  • @lfsaraivamha, I believe at 6:23 he introduces the theme

    dhinegene

    taketake

    dhinegene

    dhatigene

  • can someone tell me what plays from 6:23 forward..??

  • pl visit 'Doyen of Farrukhabad' on youtube

  • pls visit....'Doyen of Farrukhabad' - Tabla Maestro Ustad Amir Hussain Khan-Documentary - on Facebook

  • Wah wah kya baat hai ! Very unique sound quality ! What depth in sound ! Interesting to hear the difference between Amir Hussain Ji and Thirwakasaab, both students of Munir Khansaab. Thanks for posting klacsanzky77 ! All the tabla players of the world are indebted to you.

  • The way he relates with the Bayan, it's like honey flowing in my ears. So much life in his playing. Each time I hear this, my insides start to tickle and my energy starts to sway with this beautiful rhythm.

  • magical

  • simply divine and magical

  • he just ripped the Tishra and Mishra apart

  • Hearing the guru of my guruji gives me great pleasure. I listened to this countless times. His unique style is aptly apparent in this recording.

  • @balachandra108 Hello Bala Ji, may I know who is your Guruji ?

  • @shishyupal Ustad Iqbal Hussain Khan of the Delhi Gharana. He is very kind and knowledgeble teacher. He recently was awarded the Natak Sangeet Award.

  • I know nothing of this music, this is a total revelation to my untrained ears. Very, very beautiful and utterly thrilling. Thank you for posting this 10/10!

  • wow. I am humbled. The older generation of tabla players have a certain "thing" in their playing that I cannot put into words. This Ustad has it. I've heard recordings of Ustad Afaq Hussain from lucknow and he has "it" also. They play speedy but somehow it comes across different. Pandit Anindo Chatterjee, Ustad Tafo Khan, Usatd Tari Khan and Yogesh Samsi I have heard play fast but they lack this certain quality. It doesn't come off like this. It sounds to forced by the younger players.

  • @affluent111 You got it! I think it comes from their extreme dedication and endless riyaz. The greatest tabla player imho is the Late Ustad "Goga" Bashir Hussein Khan.

His son's U. Ghulam Sajjad "papu" plays a sample on the right

  • @affluent111 I think what you might mean is the "soul" of Tabla?

  • @affluent111 Yes, I totally agree with you. There is a certain magical energy in the sound generated by masters of the older generations which is missing in the playing of the current masters. It just doesn't feel the same.

I would say Zakir Hussain is one of the very few current day masters who is able to generate a kind of magic in his playing. Many others are incredibly well "Tayyar", but their playing lacks the depth that charaterizes the older generation of Tabla players for me.

  • @affluent111 VERY WELL SAID

  • I can't thank you enough for posting this.....for Tabla lovers like me this is pure bliss...7:02 ~8:02 his mastery on : Dhin gin tak tak tin gin nak tak tin gin tak tak Dhin gin nak tak and variations of it like-na na na dhin gin nak tin...dhin gin nak dhin gin nak na na ...and the bayan pumping on the fine bass

  • and his ultimate riyaz reflected in : Dha tirakidataktirakid Dhatigidegina Dhati ghena dha ti dha ti gide gina Ta tirakidatak tirakida ta ti gidekina Dhati gina dhati dhati gidegina.......

  • @UstadonKaUstad when is that?? please help me distinguish..

  • Actually everything on this album Rhythms of India is excellent! . The classic is Ustad Amir Hussain's- DhintirkidanakDhadhatirakidatak DhintirkidanakDhadhatirakidatak DhintirkidanakDhadhatirakidatak DhintirkidanakDha~~~Ghe~~~~Dhintirkidanaka............

    Kippen.org is not functional?

  • Execllent! I was fortunate to take a few lessons from his son Ustad Papa Hussain.

My all time favorite on this album is the second rela-Dha gena dha tira kida tak dha gena tina gena tirakidatak dha dha tirakida dhagena dhina gena!! in drita...the speed and clarity and the melodious tone makes me teary eyed!!

  • Amazing this music is powerful almost put me in medatation listening to it

  • @gsbextreme

I feel that's why it appealed to me, because it puts me into meditation.

  • That was a brilliant performance. However, what comes as a pleasant surprise to me is that years ago when I used to play a little bit on the Tabla, the first two Kaydas and the next rela were my favourites, and were played in the same order. Ofcourse I used to convert the second kayda (in ku-ad lay) into a rela - tirkit tak dha tirkit tak , tirkit tak ta tirkit tak.

  • Subhannallah!!

Wow this is a gem of a video.

  • Ah! I have waited long time for this man to appear on youtube. he is one of the all time greats

  • @sonofthedestroyer yeah ,true man

  • simply brilliant playing
