  • My name is Cody and I want a pet raccoon:D but I live in new York and trying to work around the law against it. Anyone know a way that can happen?

  • @dgnorthrup how did you get a pet raccoon! How do you care for it??

  • the racoon had better stand up controll and a great hip lock and some great ground work by the racoon but the dog kept him at bay with a fantastic bite technique some great side controll demonstrated by both. sneaky sneeze attack though and i loved how the dog quickly got back to his legs and went to town on the neck but then the racoon applyed the dust buster maneuver to no avail then in the 3erd round the dog gets the verbal submission and the referee steps in and stops it.

  • Bang Bang Skeet Skeet?

  • hey we have a problem with a baby raccoon, hes really sweet! and he gets along great with our cats and us. He fell in2 our house from our attic, when the mom got a look at us, she got scared and took the other ones and left. We tryed putting him out yesterday and he was scared and didnt know what 2 do so we let him back in. Every wildlife place we called said they would put him 2 sleep, and the vet said he wont give him shots. Do u have any advice? we love him and want him 2 be safe

  • @hotpinkjaguar feed him eggs and goats milk and put food out at nite the mom will come and get him we have 5 last year and 3 this year.

  • @hotpinkjaguar natobaden gives you good advice. However, if the mom won't take him, you need to come to a conclusion on this: Are you willing to put forth the necessary time to socializing, training, and caring for a wild animal? It will require a lot more effort and skill compared to doing the same with a dog, and unlike with a dog you're dealing with a non-domesticated and therefore somewhat unpredictable animal. Be sure to educate yourself continuously, and take things safely and slowly.

  • racoons were once pets of the native indian, hence there color pattern which biologicly happens when animals are tamed. (see the russian experiments with foxes) when the Europeans came the animals fell back into the wild which resulted in a mixed nature. raccoons can be bets as well as being not overly aggressive as a wild animal due to there tamed genetics, simular to wild dogs.

  • are raccoons more like cats or dogs?

  • Cool. Neat to see the playful side of a raccoon

  • THE COON!

  • lolsz the raccoon sexing the dog up but the dog playing hard to get :D

  • does it have Rabies? just wondering.

  • Generally, non-domestic animals are unsuited for housepets. Cody seems to be doing okay though. He even obeyed his mistress's command!

  • Dont call yourself a animal lover what you did to that raccoon was cruel you should be locked up

  • @junkyarddogify who are you talking to?

if you mean the guy in the vid, then u must mean everyone.

why should dogs and cats be pets but not raccoons?

and what about birds? shouldnt they be up in trees?

    ur comment has chopped logic,

owning raccons is strange, but not cruel

  • @junkyarddogify

Its equally "cruel" as owning a dog or a cat, assuming this raccoon was raised in a domestic environment since it was very young, it will know no different

    Think before you comment

  • hello, bandit

  • Um, that's not playing...

  • Did you have the raccoons claws taken out?

  • @josephfoster30 That would be cruel...

  • Roman Greco

  • @ghostygirlmn So your saying They should be in cages 24 hours a day? DOYOU EVEN KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT ANIMALS! animals are like pets. all you need to do is train it be nice to it. and teach it social skills. And you have your own wild pet!

  • @Sarabazzar i want a rhino XD

  • @ghostygirlmn While I do agree, that is not always true. In cases like skunks and raccoons, if you have them from birth they can be raised just like a dog or a cat, but not if you just find one and take it in will it become a pet. But bigger animals should NEVER be pets.

  • @ghostygirlmn ok you really are stupid raccoons are not wild animals there are even breeders out there so shut up about that along with skunks, squirrels, monkeys, hell even lions, tigers and bears

  • @cavaliersfan08 if you dont think that raccoons are wild, YOU are the idiot... of course they are wild animals ya ding dong! ALL the animals you just stated DO NOT belong in houses... and breeding them for the pure pleasure of money, and exoticness is simply retarded. SURE! Lets bring MORE animals into the world! Because we CLEARLY don;t have a problem with people not 'fixing' their other animals! GREAT idea. Over population is FANTASTIC! KUDOS to you for being a DUMBASS! WOOHOO!

  • @ghostygirlmn i know they are wild but so were dogs and cats at one time dumbass, and woo-fucking-hoo you said ding dong, what are you 8? and if you tame any animal it can stay in a house, you're a fucking idiot because the people who dont fix their animals and carelessly let their animals breed are dumbasses but u bitch, YOU, on the other hand, are a fucking idiot

  • @cavaliersfan08 Unreal.. can't anyone be normal? You atarted running your mouth first whom ever you are... I simply stated my opinion. And I'm getting crucified for being an animal lover? Wow. You need some serious help. I still will always believe that 'woodland' , or 'rainforset', or 'african' animals belong in houses. AND ABSOLUTLEY nothing you can say will ever change my mind about that. So, keep running your mouth... just shows people that you are stupid. Plus, the Cavaliers SUCK.

  • @ghostygirlmn DO NOT BELONG IN HOUSES. Typo, my bad.

  • @ghostygirlmn okay maybe i shouldnt have called you stupid but i simply stated my opinion vs. yours, i do now relize i shouldnt have used strong language against you while writing those messages i was under the influence of a controlled substance which i relize is not smart and i am currently receiving treatment for. And my name is not named after the Cleveland Cavaliers its named after the Virginia Cavaliers... which also suck >.>

  • Haha, I like that you yell at him and he listens. It's just strange to see a raccoon listen I guess lawl.

  • just wondering, dont even know if its possible.

but if i dog mated with a raccoon wouldnt it make a neat animal?

  • AWW!How CUTE!I just LOVE raccoons!

  • Interracial relationships are always the best!

  • at first i thought your dog had a red butt lol

  • Lol I use to have a coon. His name was Banjo!

when he was young I could carry him on my shoulder. I think raising a raccoon was one of the best experiences of my life. It was amazing to see him grow and get smarter everyday. I will never forget you my baby Banjo!

  • one day youll find lil 'RAGS' runnin around. Racoon+dog.

  • how is cody potty trained? and how would you compare a dog's tendency to bite with a raccoons? if you could answer my questions, thanks! :) oh and did you get him from a breeder?

  • @Raaaachell i know Im not djnorthrup but its very easy to potty train a raccoon.

I just would put my raccoon's crap in the tray when he was very young. Then he just started using it. They are extremely intelligent creatures and can be one of the funnest things to have in your life. But all of them deserve a free life. Even if there are consequences.

  • when i see these in a creek i run like a little baby

  • They like each other, and this is seen by naked eye. By the way, 'xissburg' human being are animal too and attack when they... Want To; Not: when they Must To.

  • the racoons are lovely pets a lot of peolpe talk about them without know anything as long as they are treated well with love ,racoons are more friendly than snakes and more people have snakes than racoons!

  • Fuzzy Raccoon i wanna pick it up and give it a hug

  • It was ' charlenemv ' that the ƒaild€d abortion was abhorred. If you will.

  • aww i wanna poke dat puppys tummy >:)

  • they look like bandits.

  • i was only payng attention to the tv lol

  • I have rehabilitated hundreds of raccoons. They're wonderful pets but we've had to train and return all but 3 of them to the wild.

3 out of about 400 or so. That's less than one percent. The rest just got moody and bit often as adults. Even when they were in the mood to be pet or playful, they bit the blood out of us.

  • Don't believe it. I would love to have one, BUT I have talked to many people who have kept them. No matter if they are bottled fed and how well you bring them up, they turn into moody adults who bite to tell you that they want their way. I've have seen this happen too many times. Even if there are exceptions, they are too few and far between to keep a racoon long term.

  • it seem very tame, but still a wild animal,

I will love one as a pet! but Im afraid it will turn agressive and bite my dog or some one else... dont know... any sugestions??

  • Buy it as a baby then it will get used to you and your dog. Make sure to be strict on your dog, because it might kill it while it's still a baby.

  • Raccoons can actually be domestic pets if you buy them as a baby and bottle feed them. So technically this one isn't a wild animal. And look pet raccoons up on google or wikipedia they have loads of advice.

  • i read somewhere they like shiny items. So i suggest you hide your jewlery and money or what nots.

  • my raccoons I keep free to come and go as they like, they meet up with me after work and I sit out on my deck with them till their bellies are full and and then they go back into the woods, but they are really tame around me and let me pet them

  • I know I should have some escape proof outdoor enclosure, because I don't want my raccoon going off hunting other animals, including birds and squirrels. And even if your raccoon mistakenly bites someone, and isn't rabies infected, the poor animal will have to be put down and have his/her brain cells tested. It's sad.

  • I have ferrets. They are distant relatives of raccoons, but I was wondering, I heard that raccoons have similar temperament to ferrets in captivity, if raised as a pup, just more dexterous. They are great pets, besides them being a little destructive, and curious (like my ferrets are). Well, I was just wondering. I'm fifteen years old and I'm taking care of ferrets, and letting them come out of their enclosure for 4-7 hours a day.

  • Would caring for ferrets at this age be a good lead up to a raccoon at an older age? First, ferrets, then a skunk, then a raccoon? They all have similar temperaments and the same kind of curiosity. One is just more of a trouble maker after the other. Still, after going to different levels from ferret, to skunk, to raccoon, I would be able to evolve and cope with their mature, moving on from different levels of expertise. I dont know if youd agree or not.

  • I know these animals are illegal in some states, but I live in NY, on the Island, and I know that raccoons are usually legal there, if you have a permit. I dont just care for ferrets, but quite a bit of reptiles, a bird and a dog. OF course, if I get a raccoon, Ill have to limit my amount of reptiles and keep them in a different room off limits to the raccoon, since he could get in their, open the terrarium covers and eat the animals.

  • is your racoon vacinated from rabbies

  • if you ever found an injured baby raccoon or something, it would be awesome to nurse him/her to health. but otherwise, raccoons should really just live outdoors where they're more comfortable and free. plus they're a real pain if they're "wild" raccoons :)

  • Beautiful tail...very long and full....mine don't get nice tails till they are over a year old. Mine also love to play with the dog but my dog is big.

  • One day ur gonna wake up and the remains of your dog will be on the walls

  • idiot, if only common sense and compassion were things that could be purchases then you could buy some and you wouldn't seem like such a jerk!

  • Wild animals are meant for the wild there has rarely been a case where wild animals stay sane.

Like that guy who had that white tiger since it was a kid just suddenly attacked him or that chimpanzee that ripped off that women's face.

  • @darkblazer111 every animal is wild then, cats dogs etc...I have seen dogs and cats who attacked their owners, so wahts the difference?

  • First off "every animal is wild" guess you must not be pass 3rd education yet since some animals are wild and some animals are domesticated. Cats only attack people when they feel threatened and dogs only attack humans when they are train to or feel threatened, and if a domesticated animal does attack a human it is a extremely rare phenomenon, but undomesticated or wild animals almost always attack the owner when it reaches adulthood.

  • @darkblazer111 to me the animal is wild if and only if it is in the wild. Then a pet coon is not wild if you get it while still baby. The thing is that some animals have a killer instinct in their veins like tigers. But wild raccoons are not serious killers. Its very likely that a pet dog/cat would attack a wild raccon than the opposite...

  • @xissburg Raccoons haven't been domesticated over hundreds of years. Most dog breeds are so domesticated and dependent on their owners that they'd never survive in the wild. If a dog/cat attacked their owner then that owner didn't train their pet properly. Racoons belong in the wild but if you're good at training animals, patient, around home a lot, a raccoon could be a good option for you. Most people who gave your comment a thumbs up probably just want a raccoon because they're cute.

  • @xissburg Yes but a Raccoon probably would bite alot harder than a Dog or Cat can. I've seen people with pet Wolves and a wolf bite is twice as hard as a German Shepherd.

  • @TheCajunGambit1 And a German Shepherd Dog bites harder than a cat...what is your point?

  • @MsLabMom My point is wild animals have a stronger bite than a domestic pet. Even a Fox has needle sharp teeth sharper than that of a Dog.

  • @xissburg thousands of years of domestication...

  • Most pet raccoons have parents who were also pets.

  • Were pets until they went crazy.

  • haha! darkblazer, a true denier of history. Those things are a very very very small percentage. Usually there was something wrong with the owner, or the animal. 99.9% of the time, wild animals are fine. Let's see, i've had a raccoon, a prarie dog, an armadillo, and various other creatures. I loved them and they stayed with me until they died of old age. Tankie, the armadillo, lived 17 years before her death. Where did dogs and cats come from? OH yeah wild animals that we tamed.

  • are those legal?

  • you know your racoon is literally trying to rape your dog. he keeps hideing his ass from the racoon. and did you watch the first part of the video. poor dog. its like jail.

  • where pertechin!!!

  • how cute. :) i want a pet raccoon. Where did you get him and how much did you pay??

  • cool raccoon

  • Careful dog, he's gonna fuck u!!!!

  • i would never let coons in my house

  • lol

  • your gonna wake up and see a dogcoon running around if they interbreed

  • @cjwwetna that's not possible, raccoons are not canids and cannot interbreed with dogs.

  • @cjwwetna I think they're both males

  • @cjwwetna or a "Rag" lulz :P

  • one day you will wake up and your dog will be all over the house

  • did you buy him or took him out of the dumpster

  • That raccoon has a bad day, and it's the end of your dog.

  • where can u buy them pls reply

  • do they make good pets? if i get perfect grades all year, my mom might let me get one,,, or a opossum

  • coons are better. they are great pets...just dont over feed them, and try to give them cat food. they have a tendancy to be obese, get them spayed/neutered and also buy them as babies so they will be tame. they are like cats. they are very very smart, so keep things locked.

  • I have been caring for 2 orphans for about 2 months. I love them. They are so playful and have great personalities. Someone told me they get mean/wilder when they get older. Is that true? How old is Cody? Did you have problems finding a vet? It is not legal where I live to have them as pets. I am caring for them in a "rescue" situation and am supposed to release them soon. I really would like to keep them but not if they do get mean later down the road. I love your video - so cute!!!

  • Yeah, raccoons DO get wilder when they get older. My mom, step-dad, sis and I raised 3 of them..they were playful and smart, but when they got to a certain age, they were way too mean to keep.

  • lol a opossum? i like racoons, but a opossum? lol they scare the shit outta me...my albine ferret kinda looks like one =p

and dont you need a permit?

  • raccoon and jack russell mix!!

    OMG!

  • Aww were can you get raccoons in England???

    Coz i want one! :3

  • Doesn't look like Cody is "playing" in those first few moments.

  • cutee :)

  • one of my dreams is when i grow up to be an adult, is to breed racoons

  • word

  • yeah man. would you ever get a pet racoon?

  • @casinthecity you wont grow up to be an adult you will grow up to be an alien

  • @cavaliersfan08 who the fuck are you i posted that comment a year ago. you live around in my hometown huh? where you at i wanna beat your ass

  • @casinthecity haha beat MY ass yea right you little pot head go smoke a bowl and kill yourself and stop cussing its not cool, how old are you 12?

  • @casinthecity SAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • where do u get aa racoon... i don't think they sell them in the pet store

  • lol are you serious?! hhhhah your funny

  • i had a pet raccoon they are sweet haerts

  • LOL! What!?

  • que adorables ^^

  • are they legal all around the world?

  • awesome dog. it's Milo off the mask!

  • Survival througth the 5th dynamic..I'm loving it!!

  • I am raising a baby raccoon right now and hes not but 1 week old.And i was wondering he acts like he dont ever want to eat,i have to make him eat by force feeding him thats the only way he will be able survive,And i was wondering is it just because he doesnt know what to do yet or he just don't want to eat.because hes not eating no where as much as hes suppose to.just wondering if u couls help me out there.Thanks..

  • how did u tame it? did u find it or did u buy it??? cuz its so cute! 5/5

  • Got Cody when he was only 2 weeks old his eyes weren't open yet; found him in brush at bottom of tree in park across from our home.; fed him with bottle and TLC. He is a handful now trhat he is almost 2 yrs old and 34 pounds. But we lv him anyways.

He will always be a wild animal though; and bull headed.

  • i want a raccoon ill be stealing yours shortly GF brb

  • Ooohhh.

Theres like an unspoken truth about having raccoons.

Its like having a two year old that never grows up.

    Only, one measly raccoon

Could easily tear up more shit

Than 25 toddlers on a sugar rush.

And in about half the time.

    Haha!

They make one hell of a conversation piece though.

  • Sweetheart, you said a mouthful ; you must of had a pet raccoon at some time, right?

  • Still do. Wouldn't trade her for the world. She's priceless Although, she's a royal pain in the ass. But having a pet that's almost as smart as you are is un-describe-able. Everything you don't want them in has got to be LOCKED. & it would be hell if they knew where you hid the key! Lol. They DO get upset if they can't have their way. & It's hell trying to punish them. Can't smack them, cause suddenly you're the victim. It sucks, believe me. I've got videos of mine on my page. Check her out.
  • why would you slap anything living anyway?

  • I rarely comment on someones comment on Youtube. I just can not believe what I saw on your channel with those two hounds destroying that raccoon after I read your "Check her out" comment. I'm watching a raccoon playing with a dog in a house, I read folks comments, then I click on your channel and I witness a murder. Disgraceful. Don't even bother with the "if you don't like it, why did you watch" bologna, either. You associated a cute raccoon video with biting, disemboweling, and death.

  • @alectricfoxx so are u saying that they killed that racoon

  • what? are you one of these failed abortions i keep hearing of?

  • They are into everything and get upset if you don't let them have their way; not the idea pet like dog or cat.

charlenmv; below says it all read her comment.

They are beautiful and fun but alot of man hours.

  • WHEN PEOPOLE SEE THAT I LET HIM GO OUTSIDE THEY SAY, "AREN'T YOU AFRAID HE'LL RUN AWAY?"

I REPLY "IF ONLY" BUT NO CHANCE HE KNOWS WHICH SIDE HIS BREAD IS BUTTERED.

HE HAS GOTTEN OUT HIS WINDOW AND JUST CAME AROUND TO MINE AND COME IN AT 2:00 a>m

  • WTF...

  • HOLY SHIT

  • how young do they have to be so they get use to ppl? and are they as easy as a dog to tame or no

  • stop with the caps lock.

  • TURN OFF YOUR FUCKING CAPS LOCK

  • @dgnorthrup OMG..... Awesome!!!! I jus found a baby raccoon in my front yard... left it there for a few hours... mom never came so now i am raising her! she is little im guessin about 4 weeks from what the internet says..... cant wait for her to get big an play like this! any tips???

can you litter box train them?

  • @kenzieway06 Don't forget to get her shots. If you don't there is a HIGH risk of getting rabies.

  • @kenzieway06 Yes, you can litter train them. My coon is now an outdoors raccoon and she is still litter trained. She uses the horses shavings in the barn ALWAYS. Good luck with your coon. I used newspapers for my coon, the kitty litter was too messy because she had wet feet a lot.

  • cute

  • YEAH HE IS CUTE BUT A MONSTER AT TIMES.

  • CODY SO CUTE

  • THANKS

  • are pet raccoons legal?

  • Apparently not; he or she is posting videos on youtube, after all...

  • in california they are :)

  • yes they sell them in some pet shops

  • NOT IN SOUTHERN CAIL.

  • Why do I think, that a title of a pimp fits that raccoon? :'D

  • LET CODY CHEW!

  • Let Cody play with it, you micromanaging busybody.

  • are thay having IT?

  • Are you gay or just retarded?

  • THANKS; WE LV HIM.

  • Is that Billy Mayes on tv in the background? I f'in hate that guy!

  • I would'nt call that play, thats more like rape. JK, it's a show of dominance and play.

  • How do you house-train/tame them?!?

  • that's one mean coon dog, heh heh. nice video.

  • There are two types of coons, the nice ones and the really evil ones. I've ran into only evils ones, killed one of my cats.

  • How did you manage to raise a raccoon?

Did you get it when it was born?

  • That's amazing.

  • ha-ha! you get 5-stars.

  • Is it safe to have terrier around a raccoon?

I thought terriers were originally bred for pest/animal control...; his aggressive playing make me scared for your coon =s

  • Stitch our dog has been around Cody, since the day we got him; when he was only 2 weeks old. Sometimes we are afraid for stitch when the get to carried away when they play. But they have never hurt each other.

We also have a ferret and stitch plays with it too. You should see the litle ferret chase

Stitch around the living room. But we have never had Cody out at the sME TIME AS THE FERRET BECAUSE i BELIEVE HE WOULD KILL THE FERRET. cODY GOT TO MY DAUGHTERS IGUANA. sAD DAY.

  • looks like toddy or cody or whatever his name is, is trying to rape fido at begining of tape

  • still funny though

  • This is the coolest, I've always loved Raccoons and have always wanted one to cuddle, you are so lucky! This is so cute!!

  • gosh im so jealous i want a pet racoon and a pet squirell

  • tHEIR WILD ANIMALS AND ALOT TO HANDLE. tHEY SHOULD BE ALOUD TO LIVWE IN THE WILD. bUT cODY WAS A LITTLE 2 WEEK OLD BABY; AND MY FRIEND S DOG FOUND HIM ALL ALONE ONE EVENING; WHILE WALKING HER DOG AND COULDN'T JUST LEAVE HIM; IT WAS GETTING DARK AND WAS AFRAID SOME ANIMAL WOULD HAVE HIM FOR DINNER.

SO NOW HE IS 16 MONTH AND HAS HIS OWN ROOM AND GETS TO GO OUTSIDE AND PLAY THEN HE GOT BACK TO HIM ROOM

    HE HAS IT MADE.

i DON'T THINK ANYONE OWNS A RACCOON; A RACCOON OWN THE PEOPLE.

  • your probaly gonna have to get rid of him so because once mating season come they go crazy.

  • did u train it to go outside to the bathroom just like a dog?

  • nO HE GO TO THE BATHROOM IT THE ONE SPOT HE HAS MADE FOR DOING HIS BUSINESS. HE POOS IN ONE SPOT AND PEES IN A PLASTIC CONTAINER THATS GOT WATER IN IT. SO YOU DON'T HAVE POO AND PEE EVERY WHERE. oNE OF MY OTHER RACCOONS TRAINED ITSELF TO GO IN THE TOILET.

  • where did you get a pet raccoon, i want one sooooo bad

  • would if he had raibies lol

  • I'M NOT WORRIED ABOUT RABIES BECAUSE HE IS IN GOOD HEALTH AND DOESN'T GO AROUND ANIMALS THAT ROAM FREE AN HAVE MORE OF A CHANCE TO GET IT. EVERY WARM BLOODED ANIMAL EVEN US CAN GET RABBIES; BUT MOST OF THE TIME ANIMALS THAT ARE IN Captiveity have to be bitten by an animal that's got the virus and lives in the wild. if you want to get them shots; they should be given feline shots not dog shots.

not worries. this is my 7th coon and never a problem.

  • cuteness overload

  • thanks they are alot of funny but a real handful
