  • Love it!

  • can it run apps like games from the app store?

  • @pricelessppp Yes, most should definitely run.

  • @TechCentury what if i buy the most basic mac book air model?

  • @pricelessppp The current generation with the Core i5 processor is fast enough for most tasks.

If you really want more graphic intense apps to work on the air you might be better off with getting a used macbook air of the last generation with the core 2 duo processor because those have way better graphics.

  • I want to play some low key games would this do will mainly be using for work and Microsoft flight simulator. Looking at my currentpc specs it the graphics card letting me down nothing else process or speed is faster and less ram than a MacBook.

  • @SuperFlyingfreak Yes if you look at the current generation it really is the graphics that are not really any good for gaming.

The other specs are definitely good enough but also the 13 inch MacBook pro has the same integrated graphics so you might be better off with a Dell XPS 15z or an HP Envy laptop.

  • would you recommend this VERY model as a REFURBISHED unit from Apple for just internet surfing and watching Netflix ?

  • @boomer30 Yes, I think it woud be a great machine for the price and purpose that you want to use it for.

  • 欲しいなー

  • how would this stack up against a new lenovo core i5 laptop with 4 gigs of ram? i thinking of ditching it and getting an air like this one. Thanx in advance

  • @backdoorman1971 Well the one that I reviewed in this video only has a core 2 duo processor which does not come close to the lenovo i5 laptop.

Meanwhile Apple released an updated version of the Air though which also features Core i5/ i7 processors, a backlit keyboard and 4gb of Ram.

Those new ones should come close to your lenovo and you gain a lot of portability.

  • @TechCentury but specifically this model, would it be a really slow laptop compared to my core i5 laptop ?

  • @backdoorman1971 Yes, this processor is not even half as fast as the i5.

  • @TechCentury , nigga this laptop is waaay to small

  • @gogoasacenusie First of all I am not your 'nigga' and second of all the size is personal preference.

  • @TechCentury , ok playboi

  • would this be okay to play a few games on like minecraft but im not expecting amazingly great things

  • @ThatGamingLlama Yes it should definitely work for that.

  • good review, big help thanks very much!

  • @spineshank246 I am very glad that I was able to help you with my video.

    Thanks for watching!

  • Thanks good video

  • @1337z0r4 Thank you very much!

  • lol at the guys laughing at the way this guy pronounces certain words xD

  • It doesn't have a disk drive. BAAAD!

  • @jackalleo101202303 I personally do not use discs that much anymore so it does not really matter to me.

  • Not a massive downfall lacking an SD slot, just get a usb adaptor! Good video though :)

  • @ttylerbevann lol yes that is true, I often transfer video files from a SD card though so an integrated reader would have been nice. =)

  • thanks so much for ur reviews they r very helpful...

  • @SuperPrincessjo Thank you very much for the feedback!

I am very glad that I was able to help.

  • @TechCentury

Do you think a 11 inch Macbook air could do apps like iPhoto, iWeb, iMovie and other intensive apps? I have a 13 inch Mid-2010 Macbook Pro, but I'm looking for better battery life and easier to carry around, but I don't know if it would be good enough to run my apps because my Pro barely gets by on 4GB ram and 2.4GHz processor.

  • @braydenmartindale Well I think the current generation MacBook Airs with the Core i processors are definitely powerful enough for those requirements.

In my opinion you should definitely get 4gb of Ram though.

Regarding the battery life I am not sure, Apple claims 5 hours for the 11 inch, with intense tasks this will probably change quite a bit.

  • 1.4ghz? congrats you have been scammed. why not a macbook with a larger screen and much more powerful. and cheeper

  • @KevinTheAppleGuy No I did not.

I do not need the power, portability is way more important to me.

  • I thought you were german the accent wie gehts''

  • @officer610 Mir gehts gut und dir?

  • All the Macs looked awesome but then he said Samsung and i saw a Brick !

  • Are there any used or refurbished MacBook Airs for a lower price like less than $400 or something?

  • @NathanCJohnson the lowest iv seen is $800

  • @NathanCJohnson You can get refurbished MacBooks from Apple but they usually sell for around 800 bucks.

  • @TechCentury Okay, thanks. I will save up for $800 then :) Hopefully I can get one soon. I don't want one with Lion on it. I want a Snow Leopard MacBook Air.

  • @NathanCJohnson You are welcome.

Why do you prefer snow leopard?

  • @TechCentury I prefer Snow Leopard because for some reason I like the UI of it better. There's too much grey in Lion for me. I mean, it's an awesome OS but I rather have SL for now and I can always upgrade if I ever wanted to.

  • @TechCentury while you were using it was it extremely annoying for the screen size?

  • @TheWeeft Well it was not too bad but after a while you just wish to have a larger screen.

If you use it at home you can of course also hook it up to an external monitor.

  • @TechCentury is the screen size too small?

  • @TheWeeft I think the screen is too small if you want to use it as your primary machine.

  • thanks man <3

  • @PeeweeHD You are very welcome!

    Glad you liked the video.

  • @TechCentury yeah i was looking for a suitable notebook for school which would be easy to take notes from class and keep organized. It was between the alienware M11x and this, but your reviewwed swayed my decision. Thanks for the help!

  • @PeeweeHD For school the MacBook Air definitely is the better decision! You are welcome. I am glad that I was able to help.

  • The Mac Book Air does have a backlit keyboard now and to prove I took this off of Apple's Website... "When you type on the MacBook Air, it’s just as comfortable as typing on a desktop keyboard. And now the keyboard is backlit, so you can type comfortably even in low-light conditions. A built-in sensor detects changes in the ambient lighting and adjusts the keyboard and display brightness automatically, giving you the perfect illumination in any environment." So im just doing this to correct you.

  • @IRohac66 This is my review of the 2010 MacBook Air which was released over 1 year ago. At that time it did not have a backlit keyboard.

The new version does have a backlit keyboard as you mentioned it and also has new Core-i processors.

  • does it come with adobe illistrater installed in it?

  • @qualityguy13 There is no Adobe software pre-installed on the MacBook.

  • aare ya able to plug a usb sl150 microphone into the labtop ??????????????????

  • @mellymarshmellow You should be able to use every mac compatible usb device with this machine.

  • Mic bok air

  • lol Deutsch lol

  • That thing is SICK!

  • @claton95 Yes it is!

  • Wait , mac book air doesn't have a place to put cds in

  • @Technocrazify No it does not have a disc drive.

  • wow, why does he have many apple's products

  • @ithinkyoubad Well not all of those machines were mine.

I only had them for comparison purposes.

  • for using youtube or playing a few games such as Team Fortress 2 what do you recommend

    13 inch or 11 inch?

  • @ReaperL9 I would definitely go with the 13 inch due to the larger screen.

  • @TechCentury thanks 8)

  • i think hes holding up paper

  • @besnikd11 It is crazy thin!

  • @ejkej17 That sounds really nice, I would think about getting 4gb or RAM though since you won't be able to upgrade the Ram after the purchase.

Besides that it is a great machine and configuration.

  • @ejkej17 If you do not really need the performance the 2010 version should definitely be fine. I used the 13 inch for a very long time and it was a great machine!

  • How would this macbook hold up today? I might get one because this specific model is now 750$.

  • @TheAntiChrist1337x4 Of course the 2011 MacBook Airs have a way better processor but if you only do basic stuff like taking notes and browsing the web it should still be fine.

    750$ sounds good

  • Hey, I'm planning on buying a laptop fir college , and am wondering if I shud get a MacBook pro or a hp envy 14. Any suggestions?

  • @shurutugal Hey, that is a very good question.

The hp envy 14 was just updated with sandy bridge processors so it is up to the latest standards and at 999$ it is cheaper than a MacBook Pro.

If you do not need/ want the Mac OS then you will probably be better off with the hp.

If you want a Mac, the entry level 13 inch MacBook Pro is definitely a great machine but if you do not need the optical drive the 13 inch MacBook Air might be the better decision.

  • @TechCentury thx...i checked out both and im gnna go with the macbook pro...its just so much more nicer despite the glossy screen...and also my school offered a 3 year warranty with the macbook pro and i cant live without a dvd drive

  • @shurutugal That is definitely a great decision and the warranty is awesome! Have fun with the machine!

  • well i dont know how to do video editing but am interested. i do browse the web alot. i want to learn more about computers and i fell in love with apple with the first iphone. So i plan on learning alot with mac so what do you think? i really like the macbook pro 13"i5

  • @christyluv012005 Well for basic tasks and a little bit of video editing even the MacBook Air is strong enough since they now have better processors.

I would either get the 13 inch MacBook Pro with the i5 processor or the MacBook Air 13 inch with the i5.

In the end it just depends on if you want/ need a dvd drive or if you rather want a thin and light laptop.

    Both are really good machines.

  • ok so wait i have a question im going to be a first time buyer and i would like to know what is a good macbook to get

  • @christyluv012005 Well it always depends on your usage.

What would you do most on the laptop? (browsing the web, video editing, photoshop?)

  • I've got no idea at all what you're talking about... but overall it sounds like quite a good laptop :)

  • @emilyjane1997 lol thanks, yes it is a good laptop and since the latest refresh it got even better

  • you don't need 4 computers!

  • @Torres1077 You are right and those were not all my machines. I only showed them for comparison purposes.

  • @TechCentury okk! and an nice video ;)

  • @Torres1077 Thank you very much!

  • @TechCentury ;D

  • nice review brotha. been contemplating selling my current macbook for the air.. but i'm concerned that the performance gap will be too big.. lol

  • @silntinsnty Yes, there will definitely be a big performance loss compared to your MacBook.

Since yesterday this has changed though. The processor got more than twice as fast as before so now is the right time to get a MacBook Air.

  • @CrazedLion prizenoms (.) com

  • @cricket1678 Thanks for the correction! I was not aware of this fact when I shot the video.

  • ПИДАР ЕБАНЫЙ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thanks for the review :) I also enjoy the "NG" part in end of your video :D

  • @tungskyline You are very welcome! Thanks for watching it.

  • Zamzung! lol

  • @tllporto macbook airz

  • Comment removed

  • @CrazedLion Mac's are pretty neat.

  • what did you say about the keyboard? sorry dont really understand your accent

  • @abrasive8 No problem. I was saying that everything is full size except for the function keys in the top row (where you change the display brightness, pause a track and so on) that might be a issue for some.

  • @abrasive8

    Thanksss and nice review!

  • im just sayin tht u can buy a disc drive for like 20 bucks at the apple store or radishack or some store like that

  • @SharpShooting4 Yes, you do not have to buy the Apple disc drive but it matches the MacBook Air perfectly lol

  • @soapzh Yes, it looks really plasticky and thick.

  • Excellent review. I enjoyed it and have decided to get a Mac book pro

  • @chantelly16 Thank you very much! The new MacBook Pro's are a really good choice.

  • is the macbook air powerful enough to handle a lot of video and photo editing and some gaming, or should I go with macbook or macbook pro?

  • @PikachuVision I think you should definitely go with a MacBook Pro. You need some serious horsepower for video editing!

  • Samsung not Zamzung!

  • @MrBang400 Yes that is true!

  • Unibody. Not unibuddy

  • @humakabula1 lol well unibuddy does not sound too bad either

  • McDonald, MacBook... not McBook.

  • is the game Angry Birds available in the Macbook Air 11 inch.. pls reply

  • @Macmizan Yes, Angry birds is available in the Mac App Store.

  • @TechCentury how do u get along with no keyboard backlight?

  • @jerryx2000 Well to be honest it is not an issue at all to me, of course it is nice to have the backlit keyboard but it is not necessary.

With a little bit of light in your room you are more than fine.

  • @TechCentury how do u type in the dark?

  • @JerryKadavil Well you get a certain amount of light from the screen itself but I just started to have one light on somewhere in my room.

  • @JerryKadavil Get one of those bendy usb lights.

  • Hey whats the screen like on the air, I heard its not very good compared to the 13 inch macbook pro

  • @dmg88 Hey, well I do not think that the display is bad at any means. I had the 13 inch MacBook Air and 13 inch MacBook Pro side by side and there is not much of a difference in my opinion.

The Air's display actually looks better to me because it has the higher resolution.

The viewing angles are definitely limited but that is because the MacBooks do not have IPS displays such as the iMac or iPad.

  • im not a hardcore gamer but i do like to play sims 3 does anyone know if it will work ??

  • @haskl4 Well I can't promise that 100% but the MacBook Air has pretty good graphics and I saw people playing crysis on it so I am sure it will run, I just do not know at what settings.

Maybe you will be able to find a video with the Sims 3 on the MacBook Air here on youtube.

  • Hey guys, ive always been a pc user and i dont know much about macs, so i was hoping if you guys could tell me your opinion on which mac laptop i should buy if what im interested in doing is work-oriented stuff, like, programing, design in photoshop, flash, eclipse.......

Thanks in advanced for a reply!!

  • @ernesto95guitar Hey, well I would probably go for the 13 inch MacBook Pro, I think it has by far the best value for its price.

The MacBook Air is always limited to some extend and the MacBook Pro's 15 and 17 inch are very expensive.

  • @TechCentury Thank you so much for the response, and yeah I am probably going to buy the Macbook Pro 13 inch, thanks again and I will suscribe!!

  • @ernesto95guitar You are more than welcome. I am very glad that I was able to help.

    Thanks for subscribing!

  • Awesome video. I never had a Mac, but I really want to buy a Air now. I have an pc laptop at home, but keeps chashing, and as a Uni student I need a computer that will be both: easy to carry and uncreashnable (is that a word?) I think the air is perfect for me, but Im not very crazy about wasting all my year savings at once. Is it worth it?

  • @midnightzero8 Thank you very much!

Well the MacBook Air definitely is a really nice machine and since it is on the market for quite some time now you might be able to get one cheaper for example refurbished from Apple for around 850 bucks.

The Mac operating system definitely is more stable than Windows (at least for me) it does crash sometimes though.

I would not take all my savings just to get a MacBook Air though.

  • awesome review ! subscribed !

  • @chrvlachos Thank you very much for subscribing! I really appreciate it!

  • @TechCentury keep up the good work mate !

  • @chrvlachos I will definitely try my best!

  • Excellent review! Do you have any idea how long it takes for it to charge from 0% to 100%?

I currently have the 2008 Macbook silver Unibody, and get about 1.5 hours of battery life with videos, etc, but it seems like it takes it around 2 hours to charge - ridiculous!

  • @theFriendlyHughes Thank you very much!

Well I charged it today from 20 to 100 and it took around 2 hours i believe so from 0 to 100 should not take too much longer than that but then you also get up to 6 hours battery life out of it.

  • Your German accent is awsome.

  • @13579Winter Thank you!

  • @BRIGHTSSSS Thank you very much! I am very glad you liked it!

  • I love this video! Let me #RANDSET(return the favor|give back|return the offer|share too|share something as well)

  • no cd port wtf

  • I'm probably going to get this and connect it to a 23 inch display. Do you think that would be a good idea? I already have the display.

  • @AppleTechHelper Well the graphics card can definitely handle an external display and I am pretty sure that you will have a lot of fun with such an set up and an external mouse and keyboard.

  • @AppleTechHelper well, that would be just wasting all the wonderful portability of the laptop.

Do it with a Macbook, not an Air

  • @TheSlipKnot981 No. I need the portability for school. But when I'm at home, I can have a desktop experience

  • is this any faster than the macbook.

  • Hey, you are awesome as a reviewer. Nice presentation, very realistic. "Para lante como el elefante" it means go ahead you have a great future!

  • @yv1971 Thank you very much! It is great to hear that.

  • hi great video im getting the macbook air a little over 6 weeks

  • @bettemidler1988 Hey, thank you very much.

That sounds great, I hope you will have a lot of fun with it, let me know how you like it.

  • Hey, thank you so much for the review. I'm a college student with not that much money. I currently have a 4 year old 14.1 inch PC laptop, and 3 great PC desktops. I have an iPad that I use at school all the time but I find it so limiting in terms what I can do, and I absolutely hate bringing my laptop to school since its so clunky. Do you think that the macbook air is good for me? Are there any other PCs that are less expensive that you would suggest to me? I'm not so into the netbooks. Thanks!

  • @0zero0zero Hey, you are very welcome, thanks for watching it!

Well in the meantime there are a couple of contenders to the MacBook Air. Sony has released the Y- Series and HP the dm1z series.

Those laptops feature an 11 inch screen as well as a dual core processor. Of course there is no SSD build in but they are about half the price of the Air, starting at 449$.

  • I'm Getting One of These ASAP!!!! Games : OnLive, Online Websites (Sometimes) Video Editing : USB from iPod Touch & iMovie 11'... My $500 Dell is a Bit Slower than this but with more RAM (GPU Helps on Mac) It's 5.4 Pounds 4' Thick | Need I Say More?

  • @Now2011 Yes it definitely is true that a lot of those services (like OnLive) make high specs on your local machine obsolete. I think that is also why you do not need that much storage anymore.

You can stream your content without having to download anything.

  • @ISJHman44 yes, i come from germany.

  • Sebastian, a very thorough and unbiased review. Have you heard some rumours that the MacBook Air may get a multi-core processor upgrade before the autumn?

Enjoyed your outtakes! You are very charming.

  • @evan1276 Thank you very much!

Well I have heard that there might be an upgrade towards Core i processors in the MacBook Air.

I do not think that there will be quad-core processors in the Air though.

  • Thank you for creating such an informative review! I have been a MacBook user for 4 years now and have recently been hoping to purchase a more mobile machine as I do most of my work on the go, travel every weekend, and honestly do not use my computer's processing power to the extreme by any means.

I have been looking into the iPad 2, but I realize that I use Pages way too often for extending periods of time to simply "replace" my current macbook with it.

Thank you for your honest review!

  • @rbtransformed You are welcome. I am glad you enjoyed it.

The MacBook Air definitely is the better choice than an iPad when it comes to productivity.

  • @rbtransformed It doesent have CD rom.

  • Good honest review thanks :)

  • @fod3er You are very welcome. Thank you for watching it!

  • Good review, and I could learn a lot from you.

I will buy this as second PC to use when I travel for work.

  • @KEITAROMANZEN Thank you very much.

The 11 inch Air is probably the perfect laptop for traveling.

  • Man hört direkt raus das du Deutscher bist xD Gutes Review !^^

  • @SLanKshoT Vielen Dank!
