Acapella is a type of singing involving only voices and no instruments, which both cimorelli and akata do, along with hundreds of thousands of other singing groups. And if your referring to the song choice as "copying" cimorelli, then its a popular song with a strong vocal performance, its not like nobody would ever think of singing it.

Cimorelli is good and more expressive in presentation. But vocally, Akata is clearly better. Their harmony is richer and fuller. Furthermore, just like in Idol, almost everyone uses established music. The "copying" critics are erecting a straw man.

Sure, they have great voices, but so do a lot of singers. In this competition, singers need to go the extra mile to show that they are better than all the rest. Singers need to truly make songs their own and show a lot of energy and personality. These girls, although they have great voices, did neither of those things.
