@alejandro00712 Actually. it does. It depends entirely on what default system extensions your computer runs. If for example every program and their uncle wants to update and has an automatic updater, Gamebooster will close all of those thus saving more RAM thus allowing the game to run faster. If you don't have many of those processes running however, then obviously not much will happen. It's only worth it if you can save at least 100MB of RAM.

the only ways you can reduce lag in combat arms is if you figure out what's causing the lag. usually it'll be one of these 3.

1.) bad graphics card. solution buy a new one.

2.) bad internet connection. solution sometimes your not getting the speed you should from your internet provider if this is the case for you call them

3.) Your computer is using everything it has to run combat arms because it's an old one. solution=get someone who knows what they are doing to replace some of the parts.

You can still get a virus playing combat arms cuz if someone hacks and gets it on a download with viruses they can transfer some crap to your computer if your playing in the same game with them. It happened to me and some of my friends who play combat arms.

If your gonna get a new computer for gaming get a ASUS. And if you have Vista / Win7 Right-Click the Task Bar and click "Open Task Manager" Add an exception instead of shutting down your Firewall completely.  You have a 75% higher chance of being hacked if you shut it down.

Download Gamebooster, defrag the CA folder (or all your PC if you want) daily and after a patch and that should reduce lag a lot.

Ps: DO NOT SWITCH TO GAMING MODE, IT WILL RUN CA EVEN SLOWER

RAM is a shunned item that can greatly help.

many people stop at 512mb, 1gb, 2gb and the more mem you have the better. but it causes issues for less advanced players. as your motherboard will work with only certain cards such as \ DDR DDR2 AND PCI(express). fitting it is easy. open the case and find the slot for it and pop it in. as to find out of your motherboard wants simply go to start,control pannel,system and it should say your mother board....ask a parent. us kids cant do this!

And also about closing useless programs, look up GameBooster, it'll close useless processes (hidden running programs that use up your ram) for you, and if you are using an Intel 9xx GM/GMA chipset, get GMABooster, that will make your chipset work up to 2.5x faster/stronger than normal. Please Note Windows 7 Aspire One users trying to play CA: Go to regedit then find and click Display1_DownScalingSupported and set it from 0 to 1, restart your netbook, and set the resolution from 1024x600 to 1024x768, if you tried running CA on an Aspire One Netbook on 1024x600, it would not start because it says you don't have TnL, the 945GM chipset doesn't have TnL but that's not the case, the game will not start if any monitor is set to lower than 1024x768.

It would only SLOW down if you attach a bunch of computers to a single Internet connection. And as for the virus scanning on CA, it's a false alarm. A program that sends data to Nexon for maintenance response and feedback involuntarily, is being mistaken as a infection.

what i did is compress the whole combat arms folder.

do the following steps.

Start>My Computer> C drive> Nexon>

Then right click on the combat arms folder

Click Properties

And click on compress folder and then click apply
