i love how different emily is from brennan. its so weird seeing her all smiles and laughs on here then watch bones and shes SOOOOOO different. shes an amazing and beautiful actress. i really think shes one of the most gorgeous women in hollywood and her being vegan just makes it so much better. shes so down to earth. i wish she was recognized more. she deserves it. maybe one day....:)
Milk the cashews! XDD And no, that was a gag. There's no hormonal/physiological effect on men' from soya or any other legume/nut-based milk. Comastia is a result from a hormonal imbalance triggering a growth in the vestigial mammary tissue in men -both men and women have erectile and other tissue associated with maternity present as when we're embryonic, we start out physically resembling girls- so no, no beans about it.
@nowibleedroses Yeah but she looked really okay with everyone's decisions. When Craig was saying that her food wasn't good, she was laughing :) She has a good sense of humour.
@sanriver12 I think they use some kind of protein from calf stomach to make it thick
though I have had vegeterian cheese (so without the baby-cow protein or enzyme) and it tasted good also...
I don't get the fuss about vegan/vegetarianism. If an animal is treated good, I can't see the harm. My dad (63) occasionaly tells stories of how the pig in the backyard would be loved all year long, get all the scraps, and then be eaten. I am anti bio-industry though, thats awful.
sananooreen- most animal rights activist r vegetarians but there main topic is the way the animals r treated b4 they get slaughtered. do some research on it. it's actually fucked up how they treat animals. they don't eat meat because they don't want to support the companies in the way they treat the animals.
p.s no proper study has been done for-or- against "plants feeling pain". what we know is that you need a nervous system and some sort of brain to feel pain.
i'm not vegetarian or anything. i eat what i want or feel like. but i have a mild case of lactose intolarace. i can eat cetain dairy products. just not straight milk. so i tried soy/silk milk and shakes. they're actually really good and healthier than regular milk.

emily is great !! i love it when she talks about her veganisme i'm not an vegitarian but i really love the vegan food i eat it all the time go emily !!
I love her she is so beautiful, but I don't understand why she has to go on a diet, she's so thin. And she doesn't need to be on a diet. If she just likes vegan food that's one thing, but she really doesn't need to be on a diet. I could never stop eating meet, I love it to much. Even though I'd like to, cause of the animals sake. But I love meet and chicken. But I like that Em is not that tanned. I'm kinda pale myself, so now I can compare myself to someone who is pale and so gorgeous! Love her!
its odd cus another time she was on here (brown dress, hurt ankle) she's more plump (still thin but a good level) but her legs look skinnier and very nice. i think perhaps its the way she's sitting and this dress is less flattering
I am thinking about going vegan. I may as well though because I've never liked dairy. I don't even like the idea of eating meat either. May be something I invest in.
I am a Pegan. Haha, like it? I am a pescetarian who doesn't eat dairy!! So, I made up my own word cause they don't have one for people like me (even if I am the only one, but whatever)! Anyway, I drink soymilk and I have never liked cheese, but I don't know how she can drink rice milk. I've tried it and it was pretty nasty, but I have never tried almond milk.
Whatever, she is totally cool and I love her! And, I hope to meet her one day and discuss our lifestyles and love of the arts.
I love this interview I too am a Vegan so it's cool finding out what other celebs are vegans as well. I love this interview and I love Bones can't wait for the finally tomorrow!!! thanks for posting this!!
She actually has a gret butt for someone who doens't eat meats, I would give up meat for her =) Hopefully though once we were together she'd give up meat for me but still be a Vegan if ya' get what I'm going at. ;). No in all seriousness, funny interview. My cosuin is a Vegan and while I could never do it, she's allowed to do whatever she wants.

You're wrong. At least in Brazil the soy plantation that destroys fields of the amazon forest as large as the state of Texas are for food.
We use sugar cane to produce our ethanol... Soy is used to produce some biodiesel shit but it only represents a very small fraction of soy production in Brazil...
To everyone that is vegan: Stop protecting the fucking cows; protect our future generations. Soy is killing our forest because that shit can be produced at every soil because of gen modifications
First, I never said that 100% of the devastation of the Amazon are caused by the plantation of Soy. I just corrected the guy that said it was soy for fuel, he was completely wrong.
and second, I'm not just talking about what we call here "legal amazon". I'm talking about other vegetations near amazon, such as "Cerrado", "Pantanal" and many others.
And yes, the soy is being produced in the "legal amazon" too. because that shit can be produced even at my bathroom because of genetic modifications
Hey, what the effin are you talking about? Probably it was a "vegan priest" that told you that about cattle ranches. Do a research yourself and you'll see the areas where our meat production is located and wheres the legal amazon. The devastation of the amazon forrest is caused by many things, soy production, wood extraction(I bet you or one of your relatives have a house that used illegal wood extracted here), cattle ranches too in a really small scale. it just isn't the major problem.

That's such a lame comparison. It's not about the weight of food, it's about its utility/ value. The 40kg of fodder isn't the same nutritively, it's much less. I treat animals with respect and care but I refuse to subject myself to lower beings. I also refuse to be stupid and think plants don't scream when we cut or cook them - chopping mute plants is worse than animals who can cry in distress. How can people be so one-sided? Emily and all animal rights activists really need some perspective.
@sananooreen Plants are the base of all food for animals. So, if you are really concerned about the mute plants being killed, don't eat anything. Or, assume a vegan diet, and kill fewer. Even the conservative estimates of the meat industry indicate fewer plants would need to be killed for the same nutrition to be reached.

Trees/plants dont get hurt (feel pain) when you kill them or cut off parts of them? And does Soya milk really have any effect to make mens boobs?
hbhell 2 years ago
@hbhell Modern science indicates plants are not sentient.
And soy shows no signs of increasing female hormones in men. In fact, it's been linked to healthier prostates, and other effects beneficial to men.

The soya crop is used to feed cattle. Not a lot of soya ends up on the plates of humans. It takes about 40KG of animal feed to get 1KG of meat.
