So happy I found someone with hair tutorials with curly/textured hair!! <3 If I have really curly hair do you just put it in when wet after shower or do i need to blow dry it and straighten it first?
i am so happy i found you. i have been using the morrocan oil but i do still see a lot of damage in my ends. i do get trims regulary but i dont know whats wrong. can you recomend something i can di i dont use perms at all.
the first time i roller set my hair i felt like crying lol becuase it took me 2 hours and it still looked bad! but u inspired me to try again thanks! pls keep makin videos
Hi :) I live in Singapore. And there is no such thing as relaxing over here.(i get confused)I was wondering is relaxing the same as rebonding. (The word we use here) Rebonding is when they apply strong chemicals on ur hair and straighten it with a flat iron. They di it twice and takes abt 3 hours dependin on de length. Is this What relaxing is?
This was super informative!! I have relaxed hair that is the same lenghth as yours which I tried to roller set myself for the first time (today). It was really difficult for me but that tip you gave abt sectioning the front from the back is fantastic. It makes soo much sense to do the back first! I was really discouraged abt ever doing it myself again but now I'm inspired!!
Ps, Can you give me some advice on what to look for when purchasing a hard-hat dryer for home use? Thanks Liz :)
@cocoapayola1 Try to purchase a ionic hair dryer. They have the ones that stand up and roll any where you want to go. They sell them at Sally's beauty supply and other beauty supply stores. Good luck : )
i relax my hair and i wanted to know if i could stop relaxing it and start texturizing it and how it might or might not help my hair because my hair breaks alot from relaxing it and i guess i think that texturizing it wont make it so weak and brittle
@TriniArabGirl If you look at most of my videos you will see the end results because i just roller set my hair just before most of my videos. This video is just about the roller setting I hope you still enjoyed it.. : )
@sweetfm2008I'm sorry I couldn't show the results but, I wanted to concentrate on the technique of roller setting. This is what my intentions were when I set out to make this video. I will consider to do something similar to want you want in the future. Thanks for watching.
Liz, great vid. You made the sectioning and rolling look easy. Do you put the clips at the point of tangency btwn the roller and the head, or is it slightly different? Also, the 3 rollers in front, on either side of your face, are horizontal. Would you get a different result if they were vertical (rolled back from your face)?
@Rollersetguru1 I put the clips were if feels tighter right under the end of the roller. If you roll in different direction your hair will flow that way. For example If i go more toward my right it will part and flow towards my right . It all depend on how you wear your hair. go back it you don't wear a part or roll from left to right or right to left depending on your parting.Experiment and see what works for you. : D
ok heres the thing.... i love how u do hair, and your products seem great...however on some items i may say things like "use a great product for this or that style" but i really would like to know the exact product your are using and what its good for if possible..cause at times we buy products we think are good for our hair but they end up being the wrong product, and can be drying or just not good for our hair, so can u please explain just alittle more, if u truley want to be of help, thanks
@wewparker I Thank you for your support. I'm sorry If I didn't mention certain products in this video. In most of my videos on my channel I do say the product I'm using and I even have videos on products to use on the hair. I speak a lot about the moroccanoil line of products, macadamia, amika, framesi, semi de lino and other. I hope you have seen the rest of my videos this will give you information about the product i use. I hope I was able to help you. : )
i'm sorry if you said it in the video, but i'm deaf and it's not capitoned...
isn't it bad for your hair if you do it whle it's wet? I saw that you sprayed water on your hair before rolling it up... Woudln't that dry it out? I have the same type hair as yours... Also, do you do this everyday? If so, does it ruin your hair? I shower everyday, so that means I'd have to do this everyday! thanks.

@xxbeachlove I would suggest that you don't wash or wet your hair everyday. You should wash it twice or once a week. You can dry set it at night with satin rollers . I started my roller set with wet hair and i would spray it to keep it damp. This method keeps the hair straight on the roller for a smoother look. I hope i answered all your questions. thanks for watching and good luck. Happy new years to you too.
Thanks Liz for posting this clip. I am a new subscriber and I have already learned alot of new techniques for taking care of natural long hair. I have a question about the rollerset, at the end of your clip you mention drying the hair. How would I dry my hair? I only have a hand held dryer. Also, I am African American and I've been natural for 4 years so my hair can get a little curly/kinky when wet. Will this method of rollerset work for me without tangling my hair?
Thanks for this, my hair is thick and long and before watching this I had not a clue about how to rollerset it myself. I especially like the way the partitions you made, makes it so much easier!
Liz, thanks so much for posting this video I love how you do the partitions. What products do you use for your roller setting? Do you spray only with water or it is a mixture of water/conditioner or water/setting lotion...? Thanks!
