This video shows how to open Win7 firewall ports so they can be used as well as how to forward ports thru the firewall, but how about redirecting(forwarding) from a win7 machine??? Any ideas please email me, be MUCH appreciated!!!

  • when i use the ipv4 in my browser it says it cant connect.

  • Thanks for the great tutorial.

Portforward stated that it can not ping my router. But port is open on my PC. The external IP address was used instead of the router. Any suggestions?

  • Do I need to have a router?

  • @member05c Yeah, but if you have a modem, you just need the windows firewall thing and your done.

  • Thanks so much man!! :D

  • The fing portforward.c 0m isnt working to bring the orange bar up and when i click keep and open it disappears and nothing happens. HELP!!!!!!!!

  • What do i do for making a RuneScape Private Server?

  • well i'm trying to make gta sa mp server but the portforward doesnt work for me my internet don't find that inlog page for 192168.0.1

  • @MrGlumzie Default is 192.168.1.1, but it could be .0.1 as well, just make sure you got it right. Otherwise I would suggest checking your anti-virus firewalls or Windows firewalls to make sure they're allowing it through.

  • @WhefXLR it wont work i tryed .0.1 and 1.1

  • @oXDemonBunnyXo You don't have to port forward a modem, you port forward a router. If you're directly connected to a modem you don't have to forward anything but Windows Firewall, or whatever Firewall you're running on your computer itself.

  • Nice tutorial!

  • What is the tcp for Minecraft

  • @SoupCr3w 25565

  • you know u got 9001 what is mine?

  • @Mrbendbest Whatever port you need to forward for your program to work. Depends on the program.

  • how did you get the TCP number

  • @Mrbendbest Which one?

  • Thank you so much. I'm very grateful.

  • ITS OVER 9000

  • NONE of the 'default' passwords are working, what do I do?

  • @TheTrueSparrtan If your default password isn't working it's likely that someone else on your network has changed the password. You should ask anyone who has access about it (or if you know of any network administrator).

  • When I put my ipv4 number in my browser, I get a white page that says "This site is running TeamViewer, Free Port 80 for other applications in advanced settings". Can you help by any chance?

  • @amazingcomedy2 Disable/uninstall TeamViewer on your network or configure the advanced settings properly.

  • @WhefXLR Ok, thanks man :D

I've been trying to host games for as long as I can remember, and tutorials like these really help.

  • @WhefXLR When I tried putting the ipv4 in the browser, it says "Internet Explorer cannot display page". Is there anything I have to do, or is this a problem on the website's side?

  • hey what should i do when i type my ip i dont get the same website as you do, i even downloaded opera but its the same... and i cant donwload open port check please help me

  • @ranksluostis10 What page do you get when you put your IP in the address bar? And why can you not download open port check?

  • @WhefXLR pirelli, when i download port checker and i try to install it it installs half of it and just turn's off nothing else happens...

  • @ranksluostis10 It appears as if PFPortchecker no longer works. Google "can you see me" and click on the first link. That is a website that you can use to check your ports - but both TCP and UDP must be forwarded. As for the website you get, are you sure you aren't plugged directly into your modem? Are you sure you have a router?

  • i got 2 routers when i do cmd it says its 192.... and when i do portchecker it says 213... is ur default gateway wtf

  • @ClassifiedMP5K I don't know what to tell you.

  • When i enter my deafault gate way on internet it say "It Works!'

  • @macpcgamer6 Congratulations! It Works!

  • i don't know my modem user password, i have try admin and password, and more i tried. but it still can't work !! and idea for bypass ADSL modem ?

  • @123MapleSEA I assume by modem you mean router. Google your router model and check what the default password is. If it doesn't work then it's probably because someone else on the network changed it.

  • Ive spent almost 5 hours on this, I do everything like you say, except i need to open 6112 to play dota. I've even added the port to the firewall exception, everything i try it tells me my port is not openable/reachable.

  • @Chryosoar I don't know what to tell you. You might try installing updated firmware on your router or new firmware all together (if your router is supported DD-WRT is great firmware, Google it). Otherwise I don't think I can help. Also, it's 6AM where I live so it'll be about 9 hours until I see anything else you've posted.

  • The default password might be "password"

  • i Have some sort of "ADB" icon on the top left when put in the ip into browser bar, any idea how it is used, because it is different to yours...

  • @Mindaugazz611 I have no idea what an "ADB" icon is, or what exactly your problem is. If you could give some more details I might be able to offer some assistance.

  • I just realized im on a wireless connection do i need a wired one to do this?

  • @icommentonvideos1 No, as long as you're on your own wireless connection and not your neighbors. Even then you still might be able to do it.

  • @WhefXLR i am using both wired and wireless now and ive followed ur tutorial, but it still doesnt work

  • @icommentonvideos1 I don't know what to tell you, you're obviously doing something wrong or something is still blocking it, but without more information I can't really help you.

  • @WhefXLR idk what i did but i was messing with it and i got it working now thanks

  • Comment removed

  • in the port checker it says your port is NOT OPEN or not reachable. I did exactly what you did in the video. please answer!

  • @17043S It's possible that you have an anti-virus firewall still blocking the ports, such as AVG Internet Edition or whatever it's called.

  • @WhefXLR thanks but I even disabled all of the anti-virus software. Its still not working :( any more suggestions?

  • @17043S Honestly, I have no idea. There must be some extenuating circumstance around your computer. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. :\

  • @WhefXLR okay. thanks anyways!

  • @17043S try 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.0 in your browser

  • when i type in my gateway adress, in the browser its just loading and nothing happens. (Bad englsih) HELP Please =(

  • @acdc1fan1 It's possible you don't have a router. In that case, don't worry about it. Just forward through your fire wall.

  • @acdc1fan1 But i have a router

  • Why couldn't I have found this to begin with. Would have saved me, about 2 -3 hours of stress and giving up.... I want to make love to you.. D:

  • thank you so much your are a very very good man you need to make more like this one thank very bye graeme

  • AMAZING tutorial, thank you very much for the help. Good clear and concise tutorial only had to watch it once and now i have my vent server setup. Thanks a ton!

  • I followed this tutorial step by step, and even though my router is totally different than the one shown here, it worked like a charm.

Thank you very much for this.

  • @LFC303606 I'm glad it could apply on more than just my setup. Thanks for the comment.

  • Problem is i just don't know the username and password when i type the ip addres in the browser bar. I tried to google it, found a couple of usernames and passwords, nothing worked.

My manufacturer is Huawei, and my model is EchoLife HG520c.

    Please help, thanks in advance...

  • @sTrEaM219 Ahh, you're an idiot. You're talking about your router, not your FTP server. In which case you would be putting your default gateway into your address. It's likely that someone else has set a custom password on it. Ask your parents or anyone who lives with you if they've fucked with it to that extent.

  • I have a telecom router....

  • What about if i have a modem would i need to portfoward for someone to connect to my server? please help

  • @Unitedproductionsful You wouldn't need to port forward a router because you don't have one since you're just directly connected to your modem. However most likely you will still have to port forward through Windows Firewall or some anti-virus. That's much easier, though, and less confusing than port forwarding a router.

  • Good tutorial. Are there any cons for opening every port using the DMZ tab and will it indeed open every single one for any program (say games)?

  • @dkJammin If you have all of your ports open then you're much more susceptible to attacks from hackers and you could easily get viruses. However, every Windows machine already comes equipped with their own Firewall so there really isn't any disadvantage if you have that enabled. The only possible bad thing is that you can't forward ports to any other computer/device because all of them are already forwarded to your computer via DMZ.

  • How to know what the tcp and udp is? I am trying to set up a SA-MP server.

  • @fartkid95 You can look up what you're trying to host on Google and see if it lists exactly what ports are required to forward (should say all the ports followed by their protocol, TCP or UDP) but if you either can't find it or don't want to bother just forward both of them. Then, if you still want to eliminate the unnecessary port you can try only forwarding one and seeing if the server functions, however it might require both TCP and UDP.

  • @WhefXLR Ok im haveing a problem i fallowed everything you said but im haveing problems getting the udp to work when i test it, it says this "waiting for the packet for the packet to get here" but ends up failing any help?

  • @enclavebrandon3 If you forwarded it exactly like you forwarded the TCP port and the TCP port is working I don't know what the issue could be.

  • @WhefXLR any suggestions???

  • @enclavebrandon3 Umm, try redoing the entire thing, reinstalling your router firmware or installing new router firmware, and possibly identifying any programs that may be using the port you're trying to forward because it could be conflicting.

  • @WhefXLR i redone what you said in the video but it still does not work but what do you mean by , reinstalling your router firmware?

  • @enclavebrandon3 Google a tutorial to find out how to reinstall firmware.

  • @WhefXLR since i told you how my router is when i type in the ports can youtell me what to type in there since mine differs from yours?

  • @WhefXLR my router that i use is a 2wire 2700HG-B

my settings when i want to add a new applacation are this Protocol: TCP UDP

    Port (or Range): From: To:

Protocol Timeout (seconds): TCP default 86400

    UDP default 600

Map to Host Port: Default = the same port as defined above.

    Application Type:

  • @WhefXLR if you want we could talk useing steam voice chat it would go alot faster heres my account odst584 :)

  • WORKED THANKS :)

  • thank you but when i go to my default address it says me The webpage at 192.168.2.1 might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address what is it ? help please !

  • @deezybabyish You need to type in your external IP address, not your local one. Although your local one should work, just try external.

  • @WhefXLR no man i tried external ip and nothing... what is it help pleasE!! i wanna port forward I NEED IT!

  • @deezybabyish Well, 9 times out of 10 it's an issue with port forwarding, so I suggest going to my port forward tutorial and going through the entire process as best you can following my tutorial. If that doesn't work please specify EXACTLY what's happening with all details, and respond as if you've never commented before because I get so many comments I can't keep track of all of them.

  • @deezybabyish u should try typing 192.168.1.1

  • @Kornifnotthendie hah its not for that i dont have Router or Modem with ports. Myn is Grandstream HT-502 and i cannot port forward my ports so i need to buy new router is this good ? D-Link Systems D-Link AirPlus G DI-524 Wireless Router

  • for some reason single port forward aint working for me,but solved it with dmz.

    thx for help

  • I NEED YOUR HELP nice tut (:

but the problem is is that is says port not open! wtf the only differece with what you did was that in the router page in portforwarding i cant select tcp/udp or tcp or udp ??

    -_-

  • @Some1elsify Are you sure you're in the correct port forwarding section on your router? There may be multiple pages that look like they do the same thing, but they're not.

  • @WhefXLR

yes because the tab says port forwarding.. is it posible that my router is just a suck and cant portforward. or something?

  • @Some1elsify Well, it could be a lot of things. It's possible that your router does suck and doesn't function properly anymore, or that something is wrong with the firmware. Tell me what router you have, because you may be able to get different firmware which might solve your problems. This is all still assuming that you properly forwarded through anti-virus firewalls/Windows Firewall.

  • @Some1elsify

Its fixt :D the damn router block his own port forwarding -_-

  • mine doesnt start with 192 but my ports arent forwarded and i do have a router... whats happening

  • @rolo123123assistance So, what is the problem?

  • thx very much, it al worked out.

  • @CSSPOWN Probably because you don't have a router.

  • How can I promp the password because I dont know wath it is. You sais admin, but thats not working.

  • @JoaoJJA No, I said you have to set it in the options. By default the password is blank.

  • why nothing happends when i put my ip in the browser?

  • @JoaoJJA When you say nothing happens do you mean it says the page wasn't found?

  • Thankz you

  • Thanks man!! u really helped me!

  • Can you please help me, i have some problems.

When i come to the "cmd prompt" and i type "ipconfig" it says:"ipconfig is not regonized as a internal or external command, program or batch file

PLEASE HELP; i need this for my Runescape Private server.

  • @jabzzful What version of Windows are you running, and is it fully updated?

  • @WhefXLR I dont know, is there any way i can see if it is fully updated?

Sometimes my computer says that i cant run/delete some stuff because i needs to be done as a administrator, can that be it? please help me, and thankyou for answering me

  • @jabzzful I have no idea what you're referring to, and the administrator track definitely has no relevance to port forwarding. FYI I'm going to bed, and will not be on for probably about 8-9 hours.

  • @WhefXLR Okay, have u got msn or something or skype? So maybe u can help me.

  • @jabzzful If you download TeamViewer and private message me your logon information I can control your computer and just do it for you. Let me know.

  • hey, i'm trying to connect to my FileZilla server from a friends network but it stops at waiting for welcome message. i tried some different file sharing programs and i also tried freeNAS but nothing goes further than my LAN network. i have no idea what's wrong, maby you could help me :)

  • @niller99x Please view my Port Forwarding Tutorial and follow it EXACTLY as shown, and then report back if the problem is still occurring. Hope this helps.

  • Hey, btw, anyone know how to find the specific port-protocol thingie (1:15), or what to do if you do all local ports? Im really stumped here :l

  • @Sharklord15 You can look on a program manual or search on Google to find out what protocol it is, but like I said, if you don't know you can just forward both.

  • i type my gateway in to my browse and it wont find the right page plz help

  • @jacktystacey Then you probably don't have a router.

  • Hi mate ive tried everything and i checked my port its still not open ive tried it so many times and still no luck. It says port is not open or reachable. Im trying to make a SA-MP Server.

  • @umar1999 Have you forwarded through Windows Firewall, Anti-Virus and your router?

  • @WhefXLR I have done it through Firewall and router but how do you do it with antivirus

  • @umar199 There is probably a tray icon for your AntiVirus software, open it up and find the firewall configuration. Either disable it or forward the ports through it.

  • @umar1999 Dont you need a superfast 10 mb/s internet to host at home someone said to me lol

  • Hey add Gabbe_impactpk@live.com - Please Help me.

  • If i use my internetcable that is normally plugged in the pc..? I only have one internetcable that i use for xbox and pc, so when on xbox the pc doesn't have a connection and vice versa

  • @Lysergine86 I have no idea what you're trying to ask or what the situation is with your Internet. Please try to explain it better so maybe I can understand.

  • Does this work

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH! MY PORT IS NOW OPEN! I have a question though: Do I need to enable or disable Upnp?

  • @SoraDrive You can leave it disabled or enabled, it doesn't matter. UPnP stands for Universal Plug and Play. Some programs (like uTorrent for instance) use this to automatically forward their ports through your router.

  • I got a problem, my router is A-link RoadRunner 44e. We have two computers in that. Another has ports open and I can make servers with it so friends can join, but in this computer ports are not open. I did that windows 7 firewall thing but it didn't help.

My router has ports open already so no need to port forward(?) I think...

Gateway is 84.250.0.1 and IP address is "normal" what is should be so there isn't any single numbers in it. example. xxx.xxx.1.xxx

If you can help me, send me a pm

  • Thanks very much u really helped me thanks

  • Thank you so mutch i had one problem but now i fixed it thank you!!!!

  • hehe thx alot that really helped me :D

  • thanks!!

  • what did you press after you opened the cmd console?

  • @27Killgunner If you're referring to the part at 2:10, then like I said, type "ipconfig" (without quotes) and then hit enter.

In the future, please include a time to make it easier.

  • lol, like the theme , whered you get it? :P

  • @Doofunator It's called X2.

Google "X2 Windows 7 Theme." It's the first result.

  • Great, thanks
