  • hi there! how are u? thanks for commenting. take care, To God be the Glory!

  • Wow curly. That is a good question, coming from one who obviously doesn't know or understand. Jesus GAVE his life for you and I. They did not take it. He paid the price for our sins to save us from eternal hell. We can all pray that you seek the Truth, but until then, on behalf of Christ...."you're welcome". Seek him...don't be scared or chicken. Just seek Him.

  • Oh, this is good - - so pure and holy, a sacrifice acceptable. Enough with these over-amplified, beat-driven rock concerts that appeal to the world. Away with the pyrotechnics and the light shows! God's people understand that we are singing to Him. Since He is the only legitimate audience, it makes no sense to appeal to the world and cater to the flesh.

  • A song, no matter how appealing to our human ears, is no more "pure and holy" than the hearts that create it.

    This is a pretty arrangement.

  • thanks! to God be the glory...

  • Good point. It is certainly possible to create a lovely song without having a pure heart, but a heart that is pure and holy will want to follow the Lord as he creates the song. The Lord does not lead us into worship that looks and sounds like the world. This song is such a good example. Anyone can listen and tell in the first five seconds that it is not intended for entertainment and hedonism. We can't say that about most of the music of pop christian culture today.

  • Men who loved God 1000 years ago desired to not cater to the world's musical tastes by chanting all of their praise to a simple, harmony-less tune of 3-4 very close notes sung in unison by all. Instruments? Complicated tunes? Harmony? These were things of the world, and the church avoided them.

We need to remember that God looks on the heart more than the sound. He has called us to play *skillfully* before Him, and it shouldn't matter to us what the world thinks.

    Continued...

  • To God be the Glory

  • ...continued:

So if we include a smoke machine because we want to please men more than God, we are sinning. However, if we refuse to worship God with all our skill because, *gasp,* someone in the world might like the sound of it - then we have lost focus on actually serving God.

Let us each serve God as best we can with what he has given us. God gave me a good voice, so I sing to Him. But if He gives a brother good rhythm and a desire to play drums, let us not judge him for using God's gift!

  • To God be the Glory

  • well said!

  • It is time to stop entertaining the goats. It is time to start feeding the sheep.

Alam ko na totoo ang ebanghelyo ni Cristo. Pupunta ako sa Pilipinas. Pagpalain ka. Ang tagalog ko ay mali. Kailangan ko pang pag-aralan ang tagalog. Pasensya na errors. Please post more church hymns. Kuya mo ako magpakailanman pa man... Forever! Sa muling pagkikita! Salamat sa Diyos.
