yeah you pay a good bit for the kvt 696 its like 1000 to 1300 at all the different places ive seen it .but that's with install and the nav add on. nice unit though

@Billy808RE Hi, don't know about the sat nav I havn't got that on mine, But to change the background you need the image on a USB stick and just plug that into the usb socket on the control box. then go into the setting and you can then change the background, I had my images on my old ipod that the head unit doesn't recognise so it just thinks its a ubs drive not an iPod

nice setup i have same unit in my viii mr 340. buyin a avc-r too in a few weeks time aswell and was wundering where to fit it, doesnt look too bad under the stereo. how flush is it to the stereo front does it stick much ?

kenwood owns lol. i have the KFC-XW1300DVC sub and kenwood 6.5 and 6x9 and a kenwood KAC-7203 amp i love my kenwood system :) and may have a job at my local car A/V shop as an installer (kenwood auth. dealer too ;)

alpine is realllllly good but you will find it expensive. i would stay away from pioneer unless you have the money to buy higher end pioneer stuff. in wich case there will be better products at the price. kenwood is a solid brand and their head units are LOADED with features. you wont get the bass response from kenwood like you would from pioneer so you might have to turn the bass up some. but KW is a pretty good SQ company.

also kenwood is fairly inexpensive. you can get a pretty solid system for 500$. however if you can afford an Alpine Type-R subwoofer and a kenwood KAC-X10 you will have some br00tal bass. kenwood amps are SUPER reliable as well.

Please do not continue to give out car audio advice. If you think an Alpine Type R is a good sub you have alot of learning to do. Pretty much anything you can buy at Best Buy/Circuit City is crap. Look into DD subs for some high end Sq Subwoofers as well as Fi. The only way to buy Kenwood is the Excelon line, everything else is just consumer market crap.

well no shit, lol type r's work but in the context of he question.. but they do put out some decent quailty bass. im crossin my fingers for an FI BTL 18 someday lol. i just got a kenwood X1200M which is actually a really good amp for under 500$.

nothing made by alpine is crap, there is better until you get to the type x speakers and subs, then its in the running with all of the other best of brands..

DD and Fi are only decent for SP but if your looking for SQ your better off spending your money elsewhere..

and kenwood is good in reliability, Excelon is just better but still not the best..

im just curious as to who has more learning to do...

Yeah you can adjust the angle and how far it goes back. And it will always go to that place every time you open the screen.

Yeah you can change the background on the screen, the image just needs to be on a memory stick and plug it into the usb socket.
