I've seen videos where he's been real bad, and I've seen him live over 10 times and I have to say, I've seen him have trouble hitting some notes after playing almost a full set but he's almost always on top of his game live. Personally,I think he sounds WAY better live. He sings in key, and it has a rougher, rawer sound to it and it's not crystal clear and fake.
