Always the same... I use to hear great things about some new bands. And its always the same: very young kids with enormous tech skills... and a vocalist that sounds like an emo singer being raped by 5 guys. Example: a band called psylosis. everybody was idolizing them, so i checked their stuff. The music was great, but the singer... you get the point.

In an age where Lady Gaga is heralded as a genius and all of these weak-ass emo indie bands are treated as musical prodigies, can you really get down on a band who draws an influence from Meshuggah? I mean shit, all things considered, the musicians in Mnemic are fucking gods who piss all over 99% of the stuff that record labels push today. If we lived in a sane world that valued true artistry and musicianship, both of these bands would be raking in millions right now. Keep it in perspective.

Everyone keep's on trying to point out that Mnemic is trying to be like Meshuggah. Meshuggah has made an impact on a lot of Death Metal bands out there, and it has inspired a lot of musicians. I agree that there is a lot of polymetric activity in the music drum wise and a lot of off beats, but that's what polymetric is. I also agree that Mnemic hasn't been the same since Michael left, but most bands out there do not stay the same forever. Sometimes bands must change to continue playing music.

I love the old stuff with Michael, I love his powerful screams. In my opinion, Passenger was a joke. That wasn't Mnemic. Now, you can see an huge difference between Passenger and this new album. I'm glad and happy to see that Guillaume change completely his style of singing and he transforms his screams just like Michael.

Finally, the return of Mnemic is here. Well, I expected more songs like the old stuff, but the new album is not bad. It's pretty good and creative.
