DarthVada - I didn't actually change the sculpt, all this was done with paint. Surprisingly the sculpt underneath the factory job is really good. It just needs a detailed decent paint job to bring it out.

I never got the Premium Format version, that would be amazing to paint.

wow- you're a really good painter then. I talked to one of the sideshow representatives a few days ago about the aragorn premium format and they said they might have changed the likeness because it was too good- apparently some licensers mind.

holy crap- you did a great job. I've been looking for an Aragorn figure to get but no released products have had good likeness to the actor. Originally, the prototype of the SideShow Collectibles Aragorn Premium Format Figure had a great face sculpt that looked like Viggo. For some stupid reason, they changed the face to make him "angrier", so the likeness is no longer what it used to be. So disappointed. If you bought the released Premium Format Aragorn maybe you'd give it this kind of justice.

thanks weenie! Luckily the sculpt on the Sideshow Aragorn head is really good underneath the factory paint job, so a decent repaint certainly brings out the likeness. Thanks for the compliment though!

thanks guys, always nice to get such lovely comments. artlover76, for Legolas I used a two part epoxy clay called 'Milliput'. This dries hard in a few hours. I'm in the UK, but I'm sure there are equivalents wherever you live. At the moment however I'm using Super Sculpey, which you bake in the oven to make set. Both work fine... good luck with your practicing!
