Haven't seen this series since it was first aired on the BBC and after recommending it to a few people I looked it up myself.

If you're new to it, don't let the evangelicalism put you off. Most of it is funny (if a bit dangerous) but essential to the plot.

Remarkable story. I was brought Baptist and these characters ring with pathos and humor. This girls story is like all classic stories of self discovery. It hasn't aged one bit since it was first aired.
