another way to look at the comment you made is this. assume you take a regular everyday corvette to the track, then compare it to a corvette that has numerous suspension upgrades. they are both the same car, but obviously the modified corvette will perform better if you have a professional driver in both.
i have a 2005 yamaha r6, i love the bike, i know guys who ride cbr's and when they ride mine they say riding it is like "being in a cockpit" cause ur so low in the seat unlike the CBR wehre u sit a little higher up i guess
yamaha made a mistake when they released the first few hundred R6's with the rev limiter. They put it up to 20k but the bike could only manage 16,5 or somewhere close to it. That was the only flaw from the r6. good street bike. love mine and ride it proud all the time.
nice review and very accurate...The 06-07 r6 is nearly a perfect bike. It handles extremely well and has power to spare in the upper RPM range. The only fall back is the lack of power below 8000 RPM.

@cheeta5037 I'm thinking about buying one. Do all of the 06's have the 20k redline or are just a FEW like that?
volimcevape 2 years ago
None of them do. I own a 07 my buddy has an 09 the get to 17.5 tach reads 20k on all of them
