Great game, but one needs to play on "simulation", the only really challenging level. Good graphics and light to any PC. A perfect combination. A piece of advice: don't trust too much on your men, cause they can be very stupid, sometimes.

I miss the old Close Combat games. Waaaaay back when my mom bought a gateway comp we got all these free games from Microsoft. One of the was Close Combat: A Bridge Too Far. I didn't understand it until a few years later, but that game is the most realistic RTS ever made.

Because it does a much better job of simulating how orders were given and how combat was carried out during ww2. Resources dont trickle in continuosly, they come in daily shipments and in the form of troop numbers and ammunition, not the money collecting bullshit of modern RTS. Look at most other ww2 RTS, you'll see hordes of riflemen swarming around tanks in a circle, every shot a direct hit, soldiers standing out in the open, performing 100% with no officers present and never retreating.

They disappear when you are no longer looking at them. When you pan back, the bodies are gone. It's the same for medical corp-man calls for single-player bots. He crouches over your wounded/dead bot and then disappears when you look away.
