Come on, guys. Sure this dub is a little rough around the edges, but it's a great one and still holds it's own against dub versions of today.

And that's saying something, especially for a show that was produced/dubbed in the mid-nineties.

I also prefer Greg Ayres. No matter what you may say about the voice he uses, he just puts the most effort into it. All the other voices sound like they just don't give a ****, they're terrible.

Okay, some of them sound fine, like Misato, and...Fuyutsuki's okay, I guess. Gendou...eh. All the people at the control panels? WTF? "IT'S UNMANNED!" I just...I don't even know. There is anime that I will watch in English because I prefer the voice actors, but good lord, I have to watch this show in Japanese. They just seem to do the characters justice.

Good lord, this dub sucks. Fuyutsuki is just...ugh. Kiel, Hyuuga, they all just plain suck. Even Allison, who usually does a great job, is mediocre here. I blame the director. Although, Allison's delivery of "Thank you." and "Get ready." are better here, but that's it. And I hate how they pronounce "Eva."

The only good thing about this dub is Spike and Aaron. Spike sounds far better than in the series, and Aaron is a better Kaworu than Kyle.

I found the pacing of Kaworu's lines was too awkward in the original. It felt less like a part of his character and more like the VA was trying something different each line and hadn't found a good technique yet. It's as if more rehearsing could have been done(or any?). This Kaworu is more constant and doesn't make me wince every few lines. That's just me though. We all know the worth of opinions on the web.

This and the original are neck and neck in my opinion. Different characters sound better. The guy with the duck hair and glasses (Hyuga?) sounds black... yeah. The whole "dying with you etc..." was poorly delivered here. I always hated the DC. Everyone seemed sick of dubbing this. Then again Spike hated Shinji...so I've heard.

VA Trivia: Spike Spencer voiced Yeager in Tales of Vesperia. Kinda funny playing that (usually) upbeat game after watching EoE. Kinda depressing actually.

I find the original dub to be FAR superior to this. All of the original voice actors were better and so were their deliveries of their lines. Aaron Krohn was good as Kaji, not so great as Kaworu. And one last tidbit of information, the guy that voiced Hyuga in this and End of Evangelion IS black.

Definitely like the translation and delivery of the line "The one truth the Lilim have never been able to grasp is that death may be the only absolute freedom there ever was." One of the series' best and most solemn lines.

I like Shinji in this version quite a bit. He's alot more angry, and beleivable too. Good job to Spike Spencer.

And I like the original dubbing but Aaron Krohn better then this one... or Greg Arez in the Platinum Edition.

Another thing is the script; the script's different in this version too, especially SEELE's dialogue. I'm not sure which one I like best, but I certainly have to say that this script is more "epic". Mostly I think it's better, even if the acting's not quite as good.

I think the issue is that so many people are used to the Japanese version, or are going through a phase where, "OMGG JAPAN NIPPON IS DAH BESTOOOO!!!1!", and so they believe that anything not in Japanese sucks.
