Hey man, hip-hop is actually an essential part of rock and roll. Hip hop has heavily influenced artists like Rage Against the Machine, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and countless others. If it wasn't for hip-hop, turntables and sampling wouldn't be ever-present in modern popular music. I think highly influential hip-hop artists are just as deserving as rockstars to be in the hall of fame.

I, personally, am a rock fan, and I don't abhor hip-hop. Some modern artists just give hip-hop a bad name.

A song totally programmed in sequencers with no actual analog instruments is still music and still takes creativity. Technical skill does not equate to good songwriting and vice verse. About the song, I like Jetts version better than the original.
