I'll be honest, I am not into Yes, but a huge Rush fan, so I came here to see how Rush were influenced. In a 1981 Interview, Alex Lifeson says that after seeing a Yes concert while they were recording Caress of Steel (1975), they didn't even want to finish the album. It all makes sense...you can definitely see the influence Yes had on Rush, especially with the 2112 album.
Squire was so thin he always looked about 7 feet tall back then - like Big Bird or some alien from a low gravity world. Heck, they're all other worldly. I guess they fostered that look.
That moment when everything calms down... I see a village on top of a high peak in the himalayas... wind chimes... clouds at touching distance... and a boy growing up... isolated.
great post! thx man!!!

White was always the better fit drummer for Yes.He had a month to prepare for Yessongs and nailed it perfect.Always love Bruford too.

Alan White gives it a more rocky, less jazzy edge than Bill Bruford, superb drumming by Alan
