  • thisdude is no royster

  • to dA DUde who put this video up suck ya dads left nut ya fag muahah

  • he's a brilliant drummer but i dont like the way he plays this, too messy or something.

  • best example of overplaying!!!!

  • and the best best example of showing hes better than YOU!

  • you have much to learn kiddo.

  • He's gotten way better since this performance......His Drum channel performance was crazy and clean!

  • He was playing on a track....not with a band.....

  • un genio!

  • realmente capo!

  • tis song is from greg howe :S

  • It's Allan Holdsworth buddy... but the version on the extraction album from Greg Howe is THE SICKESTTT jajaja

  • yea is true, the songs of greg is the SICKESTTT my friend :)

  • It's a greg howe's song called "Proto cosmos".Normally it's a little slower...

  • this song was on greg howe's extraction album, but was originally done by tony williams lifetime with allan holdsworth on guitar

  • this dudes awesome, if he just slowed the tempo by like 5 - 10 bpm, everything we sound a little better. it was too fast and things werent distinguishable and there were parts where he got off a bit

  • great drummer even more than great but its too much for one song

  • if u compare this with videos of him in 2007 or later, u can see hes just matured a lot as a drummer. This is full out massacre on the kit lol, im not complaining, but u can see he plays so much more in pocket in drummer 07 and its even more incredible

  • cool drumming! but i hate this RIDE

  • totally agree

  • yah his ride is soooo friggin annoying

  • OMG BRIGHT CYMBAL FANS!!! SHUT UP ABOUT THE VAULT RIDE IT SOUNDS LIKE THUUUNDER! Some people prefer dark dry rides some prefer pure bright rides. Bruner and I are huge fans of Sabian dark rides. They are beautiful!

  • bright with A LOT OF PINGGGG!

  • Ok ima keep it real....The ride sounds hot man. But its really weird how everything he has on the kit cuts through like glass, even the hihats cut,,and you have this killer dirty ride. I think for HIS style...the ride wasnt right. The only time it fit, when the music got low and he began to ride on it soft. Killer ride though. =)

  • as much as i really like this guys style and i can see the concepts the he uses but, i would really just like to see him play something steady and consistent and then kill the audience with his chops

  • i have this whole dvd

  • for those of you who keep saying he plays too fast, just remember, this is just a showcase. It's not everything Ronald does. So all that: "He plays too fast for me..." shows you really don't understand this kids entire arsenal. He's a beast in every respect.

  • He's a little TOO flashy for my taste. Aaron spears and Jason McGerr completely own this guy at the festival.

  • urs so freakin dumb its a drum festival they show everything!!! u dont kno music man

  • He doesn't play anything cohesive; or of any substance. All he does is show off his chops; and later on in the festival when asked about a rythm he is incapable of explaining what he is playing.

  • I agree with you entirely. This was a very unmusical statement. Although.....I once heard Ronald on a pro mark promotional CD - can't remember the tune but he was playing this jazz thing with a real experimental group and it sounded very very amazing.........don't know why he played the way he played on the MD festival though........cos the dude is capable of a lot more than this wankerin crap........perhaps it was the pressure of playing in front of such a chops obsessed crowd

  • ok scrub... go to bed... its a SOLO! and this is what SOLOIST do, regardless of what instrument you play.... you show off what u got... the band, track, what ever it is is just his back bone so go to bed scrub...

  • lol NLforeva fails. I Will give it this dude has speed. But i dont feel a groove anywhere in this whole piece. And backing music is there to play off of or to solo around. Its not just noise.....scrub =)

  • Comment removed

  • see u just proved my point SCRUB... He's not PLAYING in a BAND... See if he WAS PLAYING in a BAND... i would understand... but you def. HAVEN't since the WHOLE THING.. Drummers do this all the time man...and trust bruner does HAVE groove... cant front it does sound bumpy at times..and his ride is annoying tho... bt i really dont think he supposed to play pocket in this track.. hence the event title: DRUM FESTIVAL? hmmmm

  • HEY!!!!!! Thats a 06' Sabian dark Artisan classic finish. You are obviously a fan of bright finish cymbals. Im a dark type myself.

  • i know hes not playing with a band, But this was recorded with or for him at one point. And This track was made for him or originally had him in it then he shouldn't be doing a solo around it. Take for example Aaron Spears. He was at the exact same festival and played to Ushers "Caught Up" a record which he played on and even though he changed it up and spiced up the licks he still stays in the pocket the whole performance.

  • remember... this is not the whole thing of this performance.... until we see the whole thing, we cant really tell if he was playing pocket... plus caught up is a real track... with vocals so its like he was playing with usher.. this is a diff. type of genre... different type of backup track buddy..

  • none the less its a backing track. Ive ordered the dvd anyways and i will watch his whole set.

  • To JordanMusic, you have no idea WHAT you're talking about! Ronald will KILL Aaron Spears! That entire gospel section of the dvd is nothing more than power and groove drummers. Ronald can play every style out there. Rock, traditional jazz, blues, pop, r&b, etc. Not saying the other cats can't, but Aaron can't sit on Ronald's drumset without getting knocked a peg or two down. Trust!

  • He is the black Keith Moon. Has a pocket, yeah its crazy, but he does. His kit is even kinda like Keith's kit in the later years of The Who. Insanely fast. I would mind seeing him and Royster Jr. do a battle....

  • he's fast but his musical phrases are too fast to be enjoyed for me. I prefrer a bit more finesse and coolness to a drum solo. there's space for speed but just not insane-mega-phrasing all the time :P

  • i love bruner'splayin, but i agree

  • i kinda like it, the 'fastness' of his playing, although i understand what you're saying, it's not enjoyable ALL the time.

  • yup very true!!!

  • to add more one that,

    A good musician wood say.

That you not only need to love the notes you are playing, but also the space between the notes. :D

  • wow... he's like the next gen Lenny White. what an amazing talent!

  • where can i find some groovy tracks like gospel or jazz fusion minus the drums???Please help me!THANX...:))))

  • Do any1 have a tip how to get my basedrum foot quicker???

  • practice your heel toe technique ...sometimes use a heavier beater to get more leg muscle then when u actually play sub it to a smaller one

  • get the dvd and watch Ronald do his thing....seeing this subpar vid makes me mad now....lol.

But he's one of my fav drummers right now...HAS to be in the top 5 modern drummers out right now...if not 3

  • Supper Sick I'm a Throw my sticks away and become a bass player lol

  • tony williams played this song, i think it is on lifetime.

  • no its proto cosmos by allan holdsworth

  • that was impressive....keep the good work, a little slopy sometimes!

  • I agree. There are some missed notes, and brief(very brief)stalls.Thats just the live experience.Nerves and adrenaline will do that. He's up there for sure. That other dude needs to chill out over there with his endorsements!

  • this is a remake of some dude in the 70s. forgot his name though

  • Lenny White maybe? Just a guess :)

  • I found out it is Proto-Cosmos by Tony Williams.

  • nice chops cuz but i feel dat u greater dan dat....cuz alot of timing combos i hear cud be put 2getha i lil bit better wit your own flare...you tite cuz... keep it up and dnt get da big head

  • wat r u talkin about

  • Lol, mtownking88's a fool.

  • who are talkin about? ronal bruner jr is one of the best r&b drummers out dere this isnt me hahah and ur talkin bout timing combos!! haha ur not even as close as being good as him... and im not ronald bruner jr, im kalib smith and im endorsed by soultone cymbals, my videos are coming really soon....

  • Hey if u endorsed by soultone... what drummer help come up with soultone cymbal

  • I actually think it was Eddie"Animal" Heyward who helped come up with those cymbals

  • lol no hes endorsed by soultone cymbals wit me......

    `Kalib.s

  • Daaaaaaannngggg!

  • Just windering.. Was'nt this a wuite dull drum solo to be preformed by Ronald?`.. I'm used to hear so much better from him. Just womdering if anyone shares my oppinion?

  • its a mixer. it helps for there earphones. its so he can hear himself and the rest of the band

  • i know most drummers use it as an mp3 player, i mean it looks better than using ipod.

  • wots the point mate?

  • who knows - what did laptop do near drumkit??

    whats his sense?

  • Another one of my all time favorites next to marvin mcquitty. But im not comparing them.

  • i wanna become a mello drummer. not a machine gun. but no doubt he's great

  • yow nice i like that one

  • WHOA!!!!

  • omg!!!!!!... aweeesome drummer...

  • he using the bobinga kit.. i first saw spanky with it

  • I think it's the 2006 festival, not the 2005.

But, what the hell, let's enjoy!!!
