In short hitchens oversimplify's the 'proof from miracles' argument to such a degree that it is merely a strawman and not at all an engagement with the actual argument. One must look at ALL the miracles, the prophecies and the actions together in order to make a watertight argument.

4)Miracles are not a suspension of the natural order, if God suspended the natural order the world would cease to exist rather they are God choosing to act directly rather than through a secondary cause

5) It is not the miracle of the Resurrection alone, it is all the miracles, combined with the predictions and testimony of others that prove Jesus was God. Jesus predicted how and when he would be resurrected, the others who came back (temporarily) did not

For this entire video hitchens is dealing with a strawman and displays an extraordinary amount of theological ignorance:

1)The people resurrected aside from Jesus subsequently died again, Jesus on the other hand ascended into heaven

2)The others resurrected did so through Gods power and not through their own, whereas Christ essentially resurrected himself, that is through his own power as God

@gnossticc You're making a logical error. Just bc the Soviet communism was atheistic doesn't mean that it was so blood-thirsty bc of the atheism. Soviet was also a totalitarian. power-thirsty, militaristic planned economy. Conceding that Soviet called itself atheist, even though it resembled a totalitarian religion, it doesn't 'destroy' his arguments. Yes it's true that some bad in the world isn't created by religion, but who would disagree with that?

You're from one of the most religious countries in the world (and arguably one of the few 'religious' western democracies). How are you doing on that front? Then to realise that it was Constantine who later made christianity the state religion and thus enabled the Roman church to turn into the nasty institution that it still is today.

a) It was in fact Emperor Theodosius I who declared it a state religion, Contantine only passed tolerance laws.

b) If it wasn't Christianity, it would have been a different sect. Plenty of those around.

@Surtak Constantine's role in history is bigger than just passing some laws. Without him, Theodosius could not have done what he did. Constantine looted Delphi, Theodosius closed it. Constantine became the first christian emperor and put christians in key civil and military positions. He built up the game, Theodosius only had to finish it.

I am not for any sect, but I'll take running naked after love in the woods (Dionysus) or worship of Sol (the solar system) over judeo-christiantity any day!

Denial by dodging the fact that just got destroyed, and try to salvage something by deliberately misconstrue the concept, 'muddling up' if you like (often works with a dumber audience because they are easily confused - but not this lot); OR, just carry on and say 'Well you still can't disprove Jesus' resurrection - absence of evidence wins' or something along those lines.
