One solution would be for rich nations to pay poor nations for environmental damage their excessive consumption causes. A kind of lawsuit for gross and wanton neglect. Poor countries are damaged by the wanton consomption for centuries but continue to gain few benefits. The time of reckoning has come.

But water transport is a lot cheaper because the cargo/fuel ration is quite big. However, vegetables will get spoiled because water transport is so much slower. And what the heck does UK import into Africa?
