80k? try 69k for the base model and 94k for the vspec. now add 50k in dealer "market value" mark ups and for the base its more like 132 and for the vspec its more close to 180k with options and taxes.. no thanks nissan. how do i know about the mark ups? i went in to pre order one at 4 different dealers got the 40k in mark ups from one and 80k from another 60k from a nother its just out of control.

look the fact is that the days that manual was faster are long gone. The ATs that are out now are far more precise then any MT. But I still believe that it is far more enjoyable to run the car through the gears yourself. When it comes down to it, it is all personal preference.

Dual-clutch has 2 clutches, so when one is occupied, the other one is pre-selected for the next gear for instant gear change, It is faster than any AT/MT.

Because a computer is doing it. Old GTRs where good because even with all there computers you where still doing most/all of the work just in diff ways to most other cars. Its changing from a drivers car to a computer on wheels. Go read some of the forums and see what real GTR owners think of the new one if you dont know anyone with one. Still will be an awesome car just need a manual version.

"Set it up for drag racing"? This car is'nt about drag racing, it's a dedicated track car. BTW, Nissan officials claim the ECU is "tamper-proof", so its gonna be hard to tune the motor for different air/fuel, boost, etc readings. The VR38 motor is only similar in the 60 degree angle of the engine block and # of cylinders-everything else is new.
as for the ecu they will just replace it, I dare say someone like top secret or HKS already have somthing in the pipeline, I should imagine is a fairly simular system and set op to the 350z's
this car is soooo awesome, the old skylines had 280hp stock and alot of japanese tuners easily got them to 1000hp. This one has 480hp stock, can you image the hp this car will provide when they soup it up for dragracing?
