funny how a track becomes so associated with a night - this is Lab 4 - Transformation, from the Alien LP - and not Escape from Samsara - thats the night. The song got famous for being played just before dawn at those nights at the Fridge - miss those days
Hi, just thought i would give you some info on this tune, I bought it yonks ago in manchester, it was released on pod records (poduk026) with tracks Alien, Alien energy and this, which is I think tranceformation, I played it at the end of many parties and it never failed to blow everybody away, I think it was also resposible for getting Lab 4 to Headcharge in Sheffield. Great track.
@shanewinslade yeah hook me up on that I lost my copy of neurocide, i still prefer the live version at the end of the set to the studio version of this tune.
Can someone who know about music tell me if this has the same chord progression as Push-The Legacy or Strange world becuase I'm not clever enough to work it out myself.
TUNE!!! I was there at the fridge when that CD was recorded, and as often as I could get down to London in 96-98. This has got me dancing with my headphones on with tingles down my spine! Had the pleasure of working with them a few times too.
Ah those were the days - Lab 4 at the Depot in Bristol before I became a mum! LOL Was the best! No Lab 4 anymore but they're opening the Depot again for Ripsnorter - one of the best Techno nights EVER! I'll be getting a babysitter...... :P :P
I went to Ripsnorter a couple of times, it was well good! Not so keen on their music policy these days though, too much psy and mish-mash, was better when the main room was hard trance all the way.
I loved this,I still have Lab4 CDs as well as beamish and oberon and my days at the Fridge, now a responsible mum (cough!! lol). Weekends raving, weekdays scouring to see who was playing where and when on Friday and where (when I was supposed to be working) and they always ended up at the Fridge lol!!!! Such fond memories of those hedonisitic days that I'll never forget - Thank you Fridge and all that were there x x x x
Anyone remember Scott 128? Geez he was awesome too. I look back at those Friday nights (Escape from Samsara) at the Fridge back in 1999-2000 and I think they were the happiest times of my life. I also have good memories of U4ria at the Captain Cook in Acton with Phil Reynolds and Frantic at Camden Palace.
Of course, I have a cd by him somwhere. Same here, the fridge and especially EFS friday nights was my second home around 97-99 and I really had the time of my life. Being from Sweden all this was completely new to me I could hardly believe it could get that good, it was mindblowing, not to mention experiencing Lab 4 live at the fridge for the first time. I thought I'd died and gone to heaven, after that I went to see them as often as I could.
Sorry people but the Fridge is no more, it has had its day , it started going down hill after the "refurbishment",In my opinion with a couple of police raids, changes of management ,some very violent incidents , a wrong crowd and no good promotions the death of the Fridge was a long and drawn out one.
The memories I have of that place will stay with me as long as i live , lots of good times, lots of good people lots, of good parties.
whats this tune called? i used to love going to the fridge to see these guys back in the day. got a few albums but cant find this tune whats it called please?

it's not called escape from Samsara thats just the name of a regular event at the fridge bar where they mostly played. Don't know what that tracks called, i've heard people say reformation and reformationII but i'm not 100% sure.
The original was called 'Transformation' - released on vinyl and put on the end of the very first Escape From Samsara album. They remixed it slightly and it's on the end of the 2nd CD (Live at the Fridge - I was there!), of their debut album as 'Reformation'
The live version they done on the John Peel show is the best version of this!
If anyone has it, UPLOAD IT NOW!
