excuse me but do you know how to do a script so once entered combat the panel will show and when out of combat the panel will leave??? if so please tell
@therawrawr - seriously, it's extremely hard to see wtf you're doing - if you expand the image gets blurry. You really can't see any of the words at all. A voiceover would actually be a good idea. Maybe take out the water noises too, so that it doesn't interfere with the voiceover as well.
> > HOWEVER, @Garrdius - swearing doesn't really help you get your point across.
When i write that \\Interface\\Addons\\textures\\artworkname.tga i can't see the picture. I've done a map in the addons map and it still dosen't work. maybe i'm doing something wrong but i'm unsure
This addon does not come with any premade .tga images. You can make .tga images with gimp2, photoshop or you can download off of the internet from various websites. I'm pretty sure wowinfertace . com has some premade images that can be used with kgpanels. Hope that helped!
@therawrawr I think that he means that when you load the image (inside the active panel) It doesn't appear. I get the same *Error* when i try to load an image...
I used gimp as my photo program. When you make your photo, all you have to do is name the photo and add .tga to the end of the file to make it a .tga file. Ex) kgpanels.tga
I'm trying to import fractal brush .tga images, but every time they come with a solid white background behind the fractal brush. (Think of this HelloKitty picture, but with the rest of the panel filled with solid white)
If you want premade skins then I recommend you look at the "btex" addon. Using premade skins, you can create the artwork for your UI. You can download this addon from the curse website.
ps2freak6678, have you tried renaming your "gigantic Texture pack" to textures and placing your .tga image into that folder instead of "Hellsing?" Try using the folders show in the video. \\Interface\\Addons\\textures\\grunge.tga. If that doesn't work you might want to ask the ace community or kagaro.
i downloaded this addon and it had two folders in it : kgpanels and Kgpanelsconfig i put both in there and it wont let me do /kgpanels config any help?
Not sure if I fully understand your question. This addon can place images on your screenwhile playing wow. You can make these images via photoshop, gimp etc. This addon will NOT do anything else. To create your own UI (user interface) you must download addons such as Bartender4, Pitbull, Sexymap, Quartz, DBM or other addons off of websites such as curse or ace. If you read my past replies to peoples questions, you might find your answer on using this addon to add on to your user interface.
That is incredible, thanks a lot for uploading it. I was actually looking for a tutorial for eepanels, which I suppose is similar. Could someone comment on these two Addons? Are they pretty much the same or are there differences in utility, options.. ?
Eepanels and Kgpanels are basically the same addon. Eepanels is outdated and will not run properly in wotlk. The only explanation of making kgpanels I can think of is that whoever created Eepanels stopped updating it and asked Kagaro (author of kgpanels) to continue to update the addon. If you want an addon just like Eepanels, get Kgpanels! If you want a confirmation of Eepanels being outdated, find one of Sipefree's addon videos. I'm pretty sure he talks about kgpanels.
Yeah go to the interface folder and right click and select New: Folder and create a new Textures folder. All I can do with this addon is create simple boxes to make your UI look nice. If you want to go more into detail go to cychow's videos :D. I've posted the simple steps in my previous comments. Hope that helped!
when the gimp2 program opens go to the middle box and hit file then new. then it directs u to a clean sheet of paper and u can customize the dementions from there. hope that helped. ill put a vid on it.
yea make sure to create the photo as a 256X256 or 512X512 photo etc. first time i tried it out it went well for me :). basically this tutorial is for after step 5 on ur comments. from there on just do pretty much what Kagaro does in the vid. gl ;)
to get rid of the normal wow interface, so i can make mine, would i go and unpack an custom interface addon, u know the ones where u can move these bars around at your will?
I think I know what you mean. Bartender 4 is the addon where u can move around action bars. i use that addon. maybe ill make a vid with all my addons. hehe theres another addon just like it forget what it's called but yea those addons are great.
You have to create a new folder in ur Interface Folder called "interface". this is where you drag in your custom made pictures. you can use photoshop or gimp(free photo editing software) to create an image to put into wow. the picture has to be either 128X128, 256X256, or 512X512. you save the picture and at the end do .tga and save picture. Drag that picture into interface folder. Then as the Tutorial does use \\ so seperate the folders until u get to interface\\example.tga
edit* you have to create a new folder called "textures" in your wow interface folder. sorry didnt proof read until it was posted. to configure the page do /kgpanels config. that should get you to the main screen. from there its easy with the tutorial.
everytime I import my pictures they become green, yes they are all .tga

How did you remove the background from a TGA file? :)
Maxarcc 1 year ago
For .tga there is a size requirement in WoW .. the height and width values must be a power of 2
i.e. 2,4,8,16,32,64,128,256,512, 1024, 2048

How do I fix this?
KTMFinX 2 years ago
I'm not sure. But I recommend asking someone on the wowace forums. There are bound to be people there that know about that kinda stuff.
therawrawr 2 years ago
I found out a way of importing the images without a white background.
With Photoshop, you have to cut and edit some complicated alpha layer business.
Instead, I downloaded the free imaging program "GIMP" which allowed me to create and import the images without a white background.
Thanks anyway, hope this helps!
