I'm wondering if there is more to this story, not told by the trailer. The music brought on the emotion but then nothing. Maybe I missed something. Ebert likes it.
How funny! I remembered this trailer. Then, when I recently bought the Sufjan Stevens album I listened to this song and I vaguely remembered this trailer and wanted to look it up. And what do you know? The song is in the trailer!!!
I grew up on a farm right nearby and it was like that then; unassuming. The Shelby County Fair really was a BIG deal to go to every year, still is. After getting out in the Big World I realized how unique the place was. I know it's hard to understand in this cynical age how great quiet and simple can be, but there it is.
@WheresPoochie@WheresPoochie exactly what i was thinking. this seems much less interesting. i mean a film about nothing specific can be done, with experiences and feelings, such as Chop Shop, although that wasn't a documentary. is there any guidance or speaking parts from the creators or is it just capturing moments in the style of Clayton Patterson? (although he wasn't always a non-influence to the action). gonna skip this one.
@LCAfilm well, i guess there is a slight semblance of a storyline in chop shop, but in traditional senses it's more of an experience flow than a proper plot. at least that's what I felt, which is one of the reasons i enjoyed it so much. hurt feelings? on the internets? lol
I grew up on River Road. Would love to move back. I loved the country and ride horses into town and the fair and the whole life growing up. Now i live in the big city! Sometimes I sit back and Remember When!
they should have shown the real people of sidney. The ones that sit on their porches on Jefferson and Court smoking crack and mooching off the system, while their babies run around in the road, dirty, with nothing but a diaper on that needed to be changed three days ago. THAT'S the sidney I see. Disgusting. I can't wait to leave this town.
Ahh! Good ole' sidtucky. lol. Barf. they should have showed the real people of this town....A bunch of dirty funny looking people that sit on their porches on Jefferson and let their kids run around with just a diaper looking like they haven't showered in days while they smoke crack and mooch off the government!! ha!
Listen here, you are retarded. Just because you are trash and only know one part of Sidney does not mean that it is all the same. There is the part of Sidney where people dont act as though they live in a zoo. Though the fact that you don't know anybody like that is no surprise to me.
