Yes, there seems to be one or two discrepancies. Without knowing this straight from the artist/director, I take my leap of faith and assume that they knew about them but saw it to be in the best interest to show another point, such as "There aren't any rules," he continues to say "it's a game of the imagination," showing a geekier and nerdier side.
