Thats so cool. Octopi are one of my top 10 favorite animals. I heard that they like to have stuff to play with, and that if you throw in something like a rubicks cube they'll mess withh it for hours. Have you tried giving it a toy?

Simply amazing. Iv'e heard that an octopus can be extremly intellegent, and between this video and the jar thing Im convinced. It's just really unfortunate that they seem to be reletivly frail creatures physically.

A fisherman I know rescued it from his net before it got crushed by the rest of the catch.

They are very difficult to keep because of their sensitivity to water quality. I change about a quarter of the tank water every day and have five filtration systems on the 40 gallon tank, including a protein skimmer and an escape-proof cover (she can squeeze through an opening less than an inch wide). This animal is for experienced aquarists only, otherwise you'd be lucky if it survives a week.

I catch all her food. Most species have a life span of only a couple of years. Which is really a shame considering how intelligent they are.
