I saw this movie and it is awesome! It really teaches you a lesson about life. Just one question, since this is still in Pakistan, the official language is Urdu. Even though Peshawar is inhabited by Pashtuns, shouldn't curriculum be taught in Urdu, not Pashto?

2) It is Darra culture or Pashtuns. Being Afridi you should know this. The only originally Afghan character is the father character. Everyone else in from Kohat and Darra and are Afridi or Shinwari. 3) The subtitles were checked by five Afridi and Shinwari people who speak and read Pashto. In some cases the meanings may vary slightly to make the scene work, but do not alter the overall story. Anything else my sceptical friend? ;)

Answers aaafridi1987 my friend this is DRAMA film, not DOCUMENTARY. In Drama film the viewer must 'suspend their disbelief' and imagine themselves in the story. It is no fun while watching a drama film if you are looking for incorrect details in locations. The filmmakers used many different locations and in the end edited together for mostly a 'Western' audience who cannot read the street signs anyway and so does not matter to them.

@lionoftheworld can u answers me few question.1) when the boy going in bus from dara to peshawer the pass through Kotal bypass how its possible to going to peshawer from dara the pass through Kotal bcoz kotal is b/w kohat city and dara not b/w dara and kohat.2)U showed Afghani culture instead of dara culture bcoz the homes and the people r afghanies not afridis. 3) Subtitles on many occasions r not the same what they r saying so the people who don't understand English wll take the story wrongly

i have seen this movie. its a good effort, i know all these places in the movie, in the very beginning the movie start from FR Kohat Jawaki where the place is Afghan refuges camp, then its mostly shot at kohat city taken very few shots in Dara Bazaar and the place where the was taken to the school by his uncle is Beacon Public School in Kohat its not Peshawer.

Afridifastian - interesting points. Here answers: This is just one family story, not the story of entire village at all. Many youth in Darra go to school of course, but in our story it is different. The Pashto spoken is local dialect by most characters, but father character is an Afghan Pashtun and so he naturally has an accent. This is a drama, not a documentary. Please know the difference. The music is a Pakistani/Western fusion, totally original. Many Afrid love it. Allahafis.

Son Of Lion means "DE ZMAREE ZOY" /د زمري زویor "De Sheer Bachey"/د شير بچی in Pashto not "Bachey Sher"/بچه يي شير. Bachae Sher is Persina. Why the heck have you written in Persina? Why not in Pashto?

@hajrulaswad A Pashtun wrote the title himself, so is he wrong? I believe there may be some variations depending on locality. No harm intended. The film is very much pro Pashtun.

I belong to this place. The story which i get from this trailer, is nothing of the sort, I know the people who are in the ordnance business don't restrict their children from going to school, if there are such cases that might be due to insufficient money. The language they are speaking is not the original dialect. The music doesn't goes with it. It a classical music, which refer to other parts of pakistan normally female dancers performs the khatak dance.

@afridifastian Hi! Welcome. If you see the whole film you will understand it is one story of one family and not supposed to be about the whole of Darra. It is very supportive of local peoples like you. There are many accents in this film because not all our actors are Afridi from Adam Khel pass. The music is rubab, which is considered the traditional instrument by Pashtuns, so many Afridi love this soundtrack. But you are welcome to your views. INshallah you will see complete film.

The mathematics and literacy of arms is well known among this tribe, even without formal education. An education in a non-madrassa school is out of reach for many kids due to poverty. Swap lives? Yeah good one!
