Hi, Please do not be conned into thinking these type of structures should be dismissed as nasty slums. From a technical viewpoint they are some of the most structurally sound properties in the world! I know, as I've worked on them & repaired them. The artistic quality of workmanship is of high standard generally speaking. What they need in most cases is refurbishment! The brickwork quality is also excellent.

Hi, Please do not be conned into thinking these type of structures should be dismissed as nasty slums. From a technical viewpoint they are some of the most structurally sound properties in the world! I know, as I've worked on them & repaired them. The artistic quality of workmanship is of high standard generally speaking. What they need in most cases is refurbishment! The brickwork quality is also excellent.
My view is that UK government & local authorities are in error when demolishing them!!

I was debating with rottenpeach as he comes on uk videos harping on about how much rougher the US is. I was agreeing that the US has more issues with deprivation, but neither the UK or the US has problems on the same level as 3rd world countries.

The USA has definately got more deprived and dangerous places than the UK, BUT, as I have already stated there is no slums in either of them. Ive been to third world countries in africa and asia and saw real poverty with people living in actual slums, nothing that I saw in the USA or that I have seen in the UK comes even close to that sort of poverty.

Also saw a bit of philidelphia which was more run down than part of new york. I know tht the southern states have more deprived areas than a lot that is on the east coast but I know for a fact that the worst in the US would not come close to the worst I have saw in third world countries.
