  • Love it. Good job and good song.

  • Thank you for listening to my song and for your kind words.

    James.

  • lord, this probably the best rendition of lorena that i ever heard....

i lived in zanesville for 32 years where lorena is from (not her real name)

    great history behind this song,,,,,,,

  • I love this song and I love your version of it best. It's a lot more melancholic than most of the covers done by others. It really shows the emotion in the song not really expressed by others. Most people sing it in a sort of happy way, but it's one of the saddest songs I've ever heard. Even without vocals, this is my favorite version. Thank you so much for this. I really appreciate it. :)

  • Thank you so much for your very kind words, when I read the history of this song and the Lyrics

I knew it was a very powerful song and could understand why the Military banned it from being played, and why it would send a man home to his family, maybe we should play it today, that men may go home again.

I'm glad I was able to please you.

    James.

  • James:

Thanks for this beautiful redition of Lorena. I recently lost someone I love so dearly and this was her favorite song. You have helped me to learn how to pick it and pick it better and somehow in doing so feel she is still with me. Such a bittersweet thing.

    Thanks,

  • Thank you so much for your kind words, we all lose loved one's at some time in this life, if I have made it a little easier for you then that pleases me.

    Take care of yourself.

    James.

  • You are truly a gentlman. Thanks for replying.

  • I really like your version of this tune. You don't by any chance have it tabbed out do you? I'd like to get a copy of it.

    Thanks again,

  • Sorry to be so long with an answer, I was away in the wilderness with my Camera. I don't really have the time to sit down and write Tabs, life is too short.

    James.

  • When I feel that there is a need to return from a world that is in high gear in the music industry, I come and hide in a sound that is pure and honest. All of your music carrys a signature of absolute peace with a truly beautiful sound that reassures me that music will nevere die.

  • Very nice James and thank you very much for sharing. I love the sound of a dobro. Just brings tears to my eyes when i hear the sound of one. Thanks again! Susan

  • I hadn't heard this old song before either, it was requested by a Dobro player in the US

    James.

  • Really enjoyed this, the more so because I had not heard the tune before. Great sound as always.

  • A really wonderful job James - 5+ stars!! What a great instrument, do you tune it to open G?

  • Thank you Rupert, there are several tunings you can use such as the open G you mention or open D, or the Standard Dobro tuning I use here DBGDBG. I will have to get back to the Lap Steel though.
