  • woow this clip is the shit i love looking at this on the old black and white tv.... innnn out.......!!!

  • I love this!!

  • New school Sesame Street would NOT be so crappy if Sesame Workshop decided to use these 70s disco monsters in a 90s/early 21st century rave video collection where they dance to spoofs of "Forever Young", "Around the World", "Run Away" and "Friends".

  • What a square.

  • Out Out Out The Door Out Out Out The Door, In For More In In For More In In For More.

  • If you listen carefully... during the 2:27-2:36 mark, the muppet singing sounds a little bit like Harvey Fierstein.

  • I'm guessing the janitor was Richard Hunt?!

  • Is it just me, or does the gray monster with the gold 'bling' around his neck resemble 'Kermit the Grof' from the skit where Kermit The Frog is livid when he gets the run-around at the T-Shirt shop?

  • @tesubcalle you are right - that's him

  • Six people don't know what this song is all about.

  • the blue monster with the horns is HILARIOUS going in the door. XD

  • THE red muster got some moves lmao

  • Poor Harry Monster.

  • Neat I remember this

  • that monster sounds like dan akroyd in doctor detriot. & he keeps saying, yeah I get it. lol.

  • story of my life

  • That green monster is such a square, probably just had a hard day at the office...

  • I was born in 1978 and this was playing on Sesame Street when I was a kid in the 80s. This was one of my favorites. I would run around the house singing this. Who knew Sesame Street had a night life?

  • @mjk2831 you don't wanna know what they get up to past midnight...

  • The orange monster with horns (not Frazzle, the other one) and a bowtie looked quite scary. BTW, his name is Stuie according to Muppet Wikia.

  • lol this is dirty :D

  • I love this song i always used to dance to this when i was one

  • the blue guy with the horns and mega eyebrows was always my favorite :)

  • monsters wearing wigs. jim henson was a genius.

  • loved this as a kid!

  • i remember this .wasnt not expecting it to be on youtube

  • This is just so great I loved tghis song as a kid, and really still do!!!! Now my grandbaby watches this!!! LOL

  • Did anyone notice the janitor at the end looks like Waldorf a little bit?

  • Man I feel so old...it has been so long

  • My favorite Sesame Street song ever!

  • My daughter is five and enjoys watching the classic Sesame Street clips like this one.

  • Good for an IN-N-OUT commercial.

  • Did anyone else notice that you can kind of see the hand of the muppeteer playing Frazzle?

  • I'm so glad Sesame Street posted all these old videos. Once in a blue moon I'll randomly break out into song and sing this - unfortunately nobody knows that I'm referring to.

  • @ashleysvids (:

  • I remember this well. Takes me back to the Sesame Street of the late 70's, early 80's. Thanks for posting this!

  • What year is this?

  • Pretty much late 70s, because, of course, disco was the genre that ruled radio stations and public dance floors back then. I had first seen this skit back in the 80s when I was watching the program every day. At that time, the sketches I saw on Sesame Street were reruns (including this one). Back then, there were some modern sketches from the 80s on the show as well, so it was a variety of older and newer sketches that I saw.

    Peace,

    -Matt

  • 1978.

  • This must absolutely be the Seventies! And the high voices make this disco song totally resemble another Bee Gees hit!

Also, I agree with tesubcalle's remarks on how funky this is and that Sesame Street is heavily undervalued for its musical compositions.

    I play it again!

  • Happy 40th Sesame Street! muah! :D

  • I love the janitor, "Hold on there sonny, there is no more!"

  • Comment removed

  • I must confess I had so totally forgotten about this skit. Of course as soon as I started watching, it all came back. "That's very bizarre...:

Love how totally funky this is. Sesame Street doesn't get nearly enough credit for its musical compositions - its contributors were geniuses.

  • the monster wearing a necklace looks like a friend of my dad's XD

  • In in in for mooore, out out out the door... love it!! :O)

  • I do remember seeing this on sesame street when I was about 4. It takes me back to my early years.

  • I think I saw this years ago on the show as well, but I think I was about between 6 or 7. It made me laugh to see this guy asking about this situation, and to see him get the "IN" door slammed on him when those other monsters were coming in. Wow!!

    -Matt

  • I remember this! Sooooooooooo many years ago.

  • Oh yes indeed. Even though I had stopped watching this program by the end of the 80s, I can obviously assume that the kinds of sketches on the show today are far different than what the show had back in the 70s and 80s.

  • LOL, I'm trying to figure out how these muppets got more rhythm than me. Thats just sad

  • I remember this this is so cool. I wish I could go to a monster disco like that one. I love the bit when the monsters push the door in one monsters face it's so funny. He is so cute. I like it at the end when he goes back in and dance and ther'es no one elise their aprt from him and the bloke who closes the disco. I wonder what a real monster disco looks like. I bet it would look like this one. I just want to go to a monster disco it would be cool and to see all the cute monsters dancing xxxxxx.

  • This is awesome!

  • I LOOOOOOOOOOOVE IT!..............i use to watch this clip when i was a kid and the video was really interesting and fun. Today this clip have me laughing. I love it when the guy walks to the wrong door and gets SLAMMED in his face LOL!

  • Yeah, I loved that part as well, lol. When I saw that he was about to walk out through the "IN" door twice, I was thinking "He's going the wrong way." By the way, which "monster" in this sketch did you think looked the scariest? For me, I thought the blue one with the yellow horns looked quite freaky. ;)

    -Matt

  • NOW THAT WAS WHEN SESAME STREET WAS AWESOME AND FUNNY! From the 1970s - 1980s. Classic Sesame, my favorite! ;) _Eric

  • word!

  • I can't stop watching or laughing, it's so darn funny.

  • Ane what I learned is to make sure I'm not standing behind the In door. :D

  • Hilarious. I laughed really hard. And even though I'm 33, I felt like I learned something.

  • This clip is awesome!Love the song!Feeling like a kid again, thanks for posting.

  • he sounds like moe from simpsons

  • How I wish I could actually go to a Monster Disco.

  • love ya'll .............amen

  • dig homeboy with the big eyebrows and those teeth..man..i used to laugh my tail off...hehe ..what wonderful memories

  • Which one was that in this skit?

  • 0:11 with those eyebrows and teeth. priceless monster

  • The orange colored monster? While I have it paused on 0:11, I cannot tell whether it's the large orange monster or not; the monster that I see that is freaky looking is the blue one on the far left with the huge yellow eyes, yellow horns, and pink nose. I may be lost, but bear with me. ;)

    -Matt

  • yeah the orange one in the back with the thick eyebrows and the sharp teeth. he's not on long. i dont know why but when i was little i used to always get a kick out of him

  • hahaha

i cant believe im watching this...hah talk about a flashback. man i used to laugh my tail off...

  • This song is awesome

  • wow,one I've never seen before

  • The monster in the cape is cool.

  • The dangers of not paying attention to which door is which. :)

  • LOL I forgot about this one.

  • Oh man! I love this! I used to love everything this song came on when I was little! I would go around all day humming this tune!

  • Yeah, this one's kind of catchy and addictive. This is the kind of sketch that sticks in your mind even hours after you see it...and possibly make you laugh a little bit. :)

    Peace,

    -Matt

  • My son waved "bye" at the end.

    He's 19 months old.

  • hahaha nice and educational :D

  • Rad!
