By soap less soap she means lacking in detergent. But detergent is a broad term Most facial cleansers have a soap agent. It is believed that people who have large contact with soap, have troubled skin. And no she doesn't mean a facial cleanser. She means a soapless soap. You can have a great facial cleanser that doesn't contain any detergents. Most are a mix of oils and water. Most soaps strip the skin of natural moisture. Soapless soap clean just as good, if not better.

So if soaps are bad for skin and basic/alkali, aren't oils such as olive oil acidic, and therefore changing the skin's natural pH?

What type of oils would be good for the skin, and do they have to be around pH 7? What do you think about apple cider vinegar or regular vinegar, the former of which I believe has a different pH?
