Gotta tell you, Version 2 is all wrong. It's never "Knock them down" and the only alteration to "So let's win that old conference now" is the Glee Club's version where we change to rhythm around a bit and say "Yes, we'll win the conference again".

About high schools, yeah it's common to take college fight songs. My high school used Kansas State's

Well, this is "Across the Field" not "Buckeye Battle Cry". The official words are the words for Version 1.

@excelsior27 Both are considered official fight songs, but they have different uses. Both are played during the band's pregame with Buckeye Battle Cry being the song for the traditional Ramp Entrance and Fight the Team is used for moving to the Script block and bringing on the Team. During the game Buckeye is used after the team scores, and FTT is used between plays and after important events like an interception or third down stop. FTT is also played after Carmen is sung during post game.

Are those REALLY the lyrics to the OSU fight song? For more than 40 years I have heard this music at our local high school, (played it for 4 years), and sang the words that one of our alumni wrote for it in the 60's...and our high school fight song lyrics are incredibly superior to this blather. Love the music just the same!!!
