  • Gretzy:BEST hockey player ever, but as a coach....eh.

  • "you guys stink, CHANGE..."

  • Its like how he coached the Coyotes...too much line juggling.

  • Make sure those S'shs are crishp!!

  • this is one of the best ones!

  • anyone else enjoying McKendry in this?

  • My dad saw Gretzky once playing black jack in las vegas. 89-90ish. He got me his autograph. He was a nice guy. I still have the autograph on the back of one our business cards to this day

  • Wayne Gretzky is the Michael Jordan of the NHL

  • @deviantbb That's true because they were good players that sucked at doing other jobs.MJ was a GM after he retired and he drafted Kwame Brown. Then he bought the Bobcats and hasn't been able to do too much with the team.WG was a coach after retirement and didn't do to good at it, but I guess you can't really say he sucked when the roster wasn't that good either. But I think you get my point

  • you guys stink CHANGE!

  • Gretzky should be on SportscenTRE

  • press 2 repeatedly, is that Jim Mora?

  • press 7 and he is suckin it hard

  • Wayne's like Michael Jordan: great at playing the game, but sucked at coaching and/or managing it.

  • @UrlsGrrl54 suck at coaching?

  • No, 5 people are....I mean were Thrashers fans and are still mad about the team leaving Atlanta so they're just clicking Dislike on everything.

  • and this is why the Cyotes suck.

  • God he has gotten old. Still the great one though. :)

  • 5 people are oilers fans......

  • 5 people are from Phoenix

  • People that dislike hockey have 90% of the time NEVER been to an actual game. Once you go it will drag you in. I've been to baseball games and they've bored the crap out of me. Lol

  • thats what he was like as a coach for the yotes

  • The best part is how Buccigross jumps over the table like it's the boards.

  • way to go wayne :D

  • He was such a horrible coach for Phoenix. I'm glad he's gone, we're much better now than we were 2 years ago.

He's not nice, I don't care for the guy :I

  • @banananutpie7 Idiot.

  • @thalamus7 Have you ever met him? Do YOU think he was a good coach? He let the fame get to his head, and I honestly don't have much respect for him. Ohhhh I'm so scared of your threat on the internet. So scary.

  • hey NOBODY CARES ABOUT HOCKEY lol

  • Listen. The only reason big name players are going to the states is to make the game much more popular. The Crosby Ovechkin rivalry is huge and is probably drawing a lot of attention to hockey in the US. I'm canadian, but if hockey is soon to become big in the states. And by soon I mean 10-15 years from now. It will be team America winning gold medals, not Canada.

  • @tartz1, they didn't choose to go the states. Crosby and Ovechkin were drafted by their respective franchises. Just wait until they become free agents; Crosby will dart to a Canadian team and Ovechkin will also go north. And if you think we're winning mother effing gold medals in ice hockey anytime soon, you're on crack. We are maybe the sixth best hockey country right now behind Canada, Russia, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Sweden.

  • We have the second most players in the NHL right now but the seventh most per million people. That means that the countries ahead of us produce a higher precentage of NHL players as part of their population. The fact that we reached the gold medal game in Vancouver is nothing short of a miracle. And if you think the quality of Canadian prospects is on the decline, don't you think Canada's dominance in Olympic competition would've ended decades ago? Hockey is Canada's national winter sport.

  • The only place it is as popular as other professional american sports leagues like the NFL, MLB, and the NBA is in the northeast and upper midwest. That's the way it has been since Lord Stanley began awarding the Stanley Cup, and that's the way it always will be, regardless of the prescence of stars like Crosby and Ovechkin. How did having Gretzky in LA work out? A cable heavy network television deal that continues to alienate American hockey fans everywhere.

  • I'll sitck to watching the Boston Bruins on NESN with Jack Edwards and Andy Brickley with Mike Milbury in studio then that crap on Versus (which I can't even get on Dish) and an NHL Game of the Week Schedule that is pushed back to New Year's Day because of Norte Dame football of all things.

  • @bakerandbaker1 Of course they didn't chose where they are. But chances are they'll stay with there franchises. Both Washington and Pittsburgh were in trouble financially before Crosby and Ovechkin. Now they sell out arenas. I'm telling you both franchises will do whatever they can to keep these two players. And America will succeed in hockey soon. My buddy went to the Boston for school on a hockey scholarship. We don't have hockey scholarships in Canada. As stupid as that sounds.

  • @tartz1, I never said that the Pens and Caps wouldn't try. If the GMs have been smart enough to build a good supporting casts around these two, then they'll be sure to try hard to keep them both. Idk if playing for a Canadian team or one in the northeast or upper midwest matters to Ovechkin, but you can be certain that if Crosby gets an offer from a good Canadian team, as there is almost always at least one, he will not turn down the chance to play in his home country.

  • There would be no reason for him to say no. He would be an even bigger star than he is in the states. He would be on HNIC or the NHL on TSN literally every week of the NHL season, not just a couple on NBC and Versus. Oh, BTW, young Canadian hockey prospects don't even need to go to college-they just play in the CHL until they're eligible to declare for the NHL entry draft.

  • Thank goodness he doesn't coach here anymore...

  • "you guys SUCK! CHAAAANGE!!!"

  • anyone else feel like he looks and sounds like he's 70 in this ?

  • *honk* change!

  • i wish i had wayne gretsky at my job, that wud be the fastest work day of my life

  • Hey the line change at ESPN looks better than the time the Great One was at the Yotes

  • he changed hockey?

He made it more ridiculous. He got hockey in California, Florida, and--most insane of all--Arizona!

Really...when you think of hockey, you think dry desert cities, eh?

  • Why not? Who's to say they can't have hockey? I guess Tampa, Anaheim, Dallas, Carolina's 'Cup wins don't mean anything, huh?

Side note: Phoenix is going to the playoffs this year. Again.

  • @Klinkster68 Yea the cities are out of place, but sadly they get more attendance than all the Canadian / Northern US cities the teams left (by far), and at higher ticket prices! I personally would rather see fans that care, but business is business...

  • @lamelama22 More attendance? Don't think so man. All Canadian team have higher attendance then the southern team except Ottawa and Edmonton who were beat by LA. And all Canadians except of Ottawa have SOLD OUT EVERY GAME. Chicago, Philly, Detroit, St. Louis,Washington, Buffalo, Pittsburgh have all had more attandance then the following teams.

    LA is 12th in attendance

    San Jose is 16th

    Nashville is 19th

    Carolina is 21st

    Florida is 22nd

    Annaheim is 24th

    Dallas is 25th

    Phoenix is 30th

  • @Klinkster68 lol what are you talking about, gretz had nothing to do with getting hockey in California, Florida or Arizona, he just sniped ginos all day long, blame gary bettman

  • @camayer Actually, the entire reason he was traded to LA was to sell the game in the south

  • @TreyCH11 HAHAHAHA!!! Dude I laughed so hard, nice job!

  • Hockey belongs in the desert the "Great One" dose not!!!

  • Change! :p

  • Who cares if he was a terrible coach. He was an amazing hockey player. He was his own coach. He just has problems teaching other people how he does it!

  • Go hawks

  • @peolpe3 LMAO!

  • brilliant

  • they didnt call him the really good one, they call him the great one. he knows what he's doing.

  • I would work for Mr Gretzky any day! Please fire my manager so i can work for this brilliant human being

  • Make sure those S's are CRISP!!! lmao......awesome.

  • @WestheLegend he says exits, but whatever.

  • @hajrullahu19 S's. Yup.

  • Big change.

  • Gretzky couldnt teach the Coyotes to win a game against a paperbag, but Tippett comes and wrecks havoc in the NHL with them. Go Yotes! (I like Gretz, but he isnt a coach)

  • @TheOrangeIsThirsty amazing athelte that changed the game can't do that in management. look ast michael jordan.

  • @jamzmk I know, I didnt mean anything bad about it.

  • This just shows how little ESPN actually knows about the NHL. Not surprising though seeing as they neglect any real TV coverage. (And yes, I understand the ratings aren't as valuable but does it kill you to at least show the scores and a few highlights for 5m on SC?)

Where's the scene where Gretzky takes all of their interns and gives them a starting job they're clearly not ready for. Basically shattering their confidence and adding a few years to their development.

    Worst Coach Ever.

  • Looks like the old Ball Coach Steve Spurrier. And what s he saying at the end? Make sure those A** are crisp?

  • He said make your those S's are crisp, as in the letter S.

  • Looks like the old Ball Coach Steve Spurrier. And what s he saying at the end? Make sure those A** are crisp?

  • Looks like the old Ball Coach Steve Spurrier. And what s he saying at the end? Make sure those A** are crisp?

  • LOOOOL. espn hasnt had this dank of a commercial in a while X )

  • "you guys stink change!!!" ahahahaha

  • Sorry....i voted thumbs down by accident and I can't change it back. That is my favorite part of the commercial.

  • Hey man no harm no foul. I don't really take the fake thumbs too seriously anyways.

  • cant wait to see USA Team vs Canadas All Star Team in 2010 Hockey Olympic game FOR GOLD.

  • hahahaha.....

    GOOO San Jose SHARKS

Gretzky is the Man. Greatest of all TIME in Hockey

  • Hopefully "The Great One" doesn't ruin SportsCenter like he did with the Coyotes!

  • I saw this video and was hoping someone would make that comment. I've been a Coyotes fan the last 10 years and Gretzky fucked up the team so bad and almost caused them to get bought out and moved but it looks like Dave Tippett is gonna save the team from that. Anyway just wanted to say this commercial is extremely misleading, Wayne Gretzky was an amazing player but one of the worst coaches ever.

  • @Idontfcare hell yeah bro. TGO = The Gone One.

  • @howler602 you excited for 4 weeks from now looks liek the yotes are putting themselves in great position for the playoffs just won 7 straight.

  • @Idontfcare haha im excited for tonight. got tickets. dude we're gonna ctach the sharks for 1st by the end of the year. THANK GOD FOR TIPPETT!!!

  • @howler602 we just did tonight lol. The Sharks got their asses kicked by the oilers lol. Now let's keep winning and win the conference as well.

  • wayne was talking like he didnt want his dentures to fall out

  • @TreyCH11 that's more or less a Canadian accent, eh

  • @TreyCH11 he is canadian

  • @rattymcrat99 Canada > USA in hockey. Suck it.

  • @Tranceplant82 you make it sound like they care about hockey. Football/Basketball and Soccer over hockey... maybe even bowling.

  • @TreyCH11 he has dentures?

  • @MRCrackerShaq96 yes from playing hockey.

  • lmao I love the guy's face @ 00:14

  • You guys should llok up "Buccigross tests the great one's knowledge of "the great white north" it proves that Gretzky is actually a secret American!

  • that was awesome

  • yeah, pretty weak

  • sucked

  • this was stupid!
