Index 1 > Index 2 > Movie (coming out this year I believe)

@YGOkid8 Personally I hated Index. Touma is uninteresting, Index herself is downright irritating (not to mention useless), the preponderance of magic annoys me. I refuse to even watch Index 2 because it's harem. Railgun, however, is delightful. Misaka is much more likable than she is in Index. I watched Railgun first and was disappointed by Index. I think the only good thing about Index is Accelerator/Last Order. That's probably further than you'd go, but rest assured you're not odd.

Since Kagaku no Railgun is a sidestory, I recommend watching season 1 of Index before Kagaku no Railgun--besides, in Japan, season 1 of Index came out first, then Kagaku, then the second season of Index. It's not THAT of a big deal if you watch Kagaku before Index, but you'll understand a lot more if you watch Kagaku after Index.
