  • I loved being first chair clarinet on this song. It's amazing.

  • ummm lets give those TRUMPETS a shout out WOOP WOOP

  • beautiful euphoniums,marvelous

  • This is the version we're playing at school too! It's absolutely incredible... it's so pretty. I love it.

  • We play this every year for our winter concert.. I love it soo much

  • I used to play this song as a Tuba player, and absolutely love(d) it. Anyone know who arranged this one?

  • @Anagramslol Sounds like the Alfred Reed arrangement I'm playing now.

  • I think this song has more potential personally. This has some flow but the extra instrumentation seems to miss the point. Like they're clashing with each other rather than coming together to bring a powerful experience.

  • Greensleeves is likely the most listened to song in the history of mankind. It may also be the most beautiful.

  • Who is the arranger for this version?

  • we play this every year! and OF COURSE! I got the solo! :) clarinets are awesome

  • @GoRollTide1 who asked

  • @chubbyman92 certainly not you!..but you know no arguments online! that's stupid!

  • @chubbyman92 no on asked! but i thought i'd mention considering there's millions on facebook that would read it and not care! but you sir, have nothing better to do except sit on youtube all day and worry about what other people say!

  • @GoRollTide1 That's so cool! XD I'd freak out if I had to do that.

  • @MsDungeonX i was very nervous.! but it was awesome!

  • @GoRollTide1 You solo every year? Dude that's beast

  • Ahh this song was so fun to play on trombone. My face was hurting from the trombone melody at 3:45

  • aww... I played this version in high school, too. It's so beautiful!

  • we are playing this for our christmas concert. if only our claranets sounded better. this video needs more tuba by the way. TRUMPETS FOREVER!

  • My school is playing this song but we dont do it any justice. We only have one baritone player and he sucks.

    this song is awesome

  • i love when the trumpets come in it is like BAM!! i love this song my schools band is playing it this year! i cant wait!!

  • Euphonium/Baritone! That's right melody, get at me!

  • We played this Version of Greensleeves in our Far East Honor Band in Kadena Airbase, Okinawa, Japan

  • no timpani :(

  • my school band is playing this it rocks i play vibraphone

  • We played this song my sophmore and senior year... It's simply beautiful. :3

  • i'm a clarinet player and i must admit i think clarinets are kinda annoying sounding. but i played this piece for my last concert and i thought it was soo sooo pretty i was actually proud to play my instrument. :)

  • I love this song ;w; I played this for my Winter consert two weeks ago...I played the chime part cause I'm in percussion, but I can't hear the percussion section in it ;-; oh well, our version SUCKED. This is ten times better X3

  • this is so beautiful.

  • *gazes off into space*

    man i love this version

the clarinet and flute part in the beginning & end sound so pretty!

AND THE TROMBONE 1 PART ROCKS MY SOCKS!!!!!

  • this is my personal fave out of all the greensleeve versions...i love the low brass sound especially the tuba's part :)

  • @SexyKitten200 Haha me too. I'm playing this in our honors band (on tuba) and i love f-e-f-d slur at the latter half of the piece with all the other chords, it is just musical perfection on behalf of the composer and is so emotional to hear, never mind play!

  • I play alto sax and we have no bassoons to play the bassoon cues, so we have to play it. It sounds so sad!

  • i play this song with the school band. i play the clarinet. :] and i love how the french horn sounds. it's a really beautiful peice.

  • Trombone < 333333

  • I second that <33333333

  • I love the french horn parts and sounds in this piece. Wonderful overall sound with flutes and clarinets.

  • Back in high school, this was the ending piece for every Christmas concert. It gave me shivers to be a part of the song. It's beautiful...

  • who is alfred reed anyways? The composer of this piece or the photographer.

  • The Composer

  • the beggining clarinet and flute part gets me the most

  • oh my god i literally wanna just fall asleep while this song plays. its too relaxing grr. how am i supposed to play th euphonium solo in band if i fall asleep???

  • An awesome rendition of an all time classic.

  • This is absolutely beautiful. I've been looking for a version of this song that captures its feeling, and this hits it perfectly.

  • Who is it by?

  • Alfred Reed

  • I love this song. Sometimes I'll listen to it several times over and over again.

We were going to play it at my school for the winter concert, but my band sucks and they decided that they hated it because it was slow. They purposely played it horribly until our band director changed his mind. =(

  • Aww, that sucks. My band played it, and I was really happy that the euphoniums got a solo! Go euph power! XD

  • euphs and baritones FTW!

  • Low brass! *high fives*

  • i know how you feel. it's my favourite piece of music ever written, and has been for as long as i can remember. we were going to play it too, but my band mates did the same thing :(

i just don't understand how someone can't love it. i mean, even without the lyrics, just the music speaks of such a great love all on it's own. it's such a simple peice, yet at the same time it's so complex and deep. it gives me chills, lol. but seriously; one of the greatest pieces of music ever written, i think.

  • I love how it has a combination of beauty and power. My favorite thing in band music is by far dynamic contrast, and this song does that beautifully. I also love the warmth that the low brass brings to the melody. My favorite part, though, is closer to the end with the huge statements, where it gets very dramatic and intense. =)

  • greensleeves, oh greensleeves <3

it relaxes me soo much, everyday i listen to it. this and robin hood soundtrack highlights, blue ridge saga, & quad city stomp.

    amazing.

hjh is THE best, no doubt,

thats why WE play thiss <3
