I'm white. I heard The Last Poets when I was pretty young. I was also involved in the punk/wave scene from the beginning to the end. When I heard The Last Poets I was ecstatic - this was truly an art form; it had an authentic voice. What I hear now is rap polluted by the same forces that always try to co-opt authentic art for commerciality. There's only a few people I really would put in the same class and tradition as The Last Poets.
the zionist media industry will never allow the Last Poets the publicity they deserve.
So log as Rap talks about whores, guns, bling (all to make blacks impotent) the zionists will push them. JUst look at who owns Hollywood, and the media which work in conjuction with the banks.
Elleba ago elleba ago ana, elleba ago elleba ago ana, alaroye masankio elleba ago ana! maferefun Ellebba . I am omo Ellebba. The truth shall come out! It cant get more real than this! they might have had damaged the tree but not the root! Long Live the LAST POETS! Seriously this is where all began. Amazing!
@NegroXFile well I don't know if they are dead by now or if you just want to have a comeback~ but if you say that you NEED them - I say you don't - just because they where one of the first and last to talk about important topics doesn't mean that just they could do that - everybody could EVEN YOU so if you respect them you don't whine around that you wanna have them back but you just try to keep their mentality alive yourself (which is the highest form of respect) ...that's what I mean
@abaex I don't feel I need a lecture on my duties as being a Blackman in my community, so what gives you the Testicular Fortitude or Vaginal Discharge to come at me and spew some dumb shit at me like that? You dont know me from a can of paint but yet you assume the lessor of me which pisses me the fuck off!
@NegroXFile I don't care if you are black, brown, gray, white, pink, yellow, green, blue, red, purple, mottled or whatever - it's my general opinion of things. Of course I don't know if you are doing the stuff you would want the last poets back for - if you did you might have told me that by now as counter instead of getting mad though. I didn't mean to judge you or something but if you think that the last poets did something we would really need today - who will do it if they don't anymore?
@NegroXFile Well that's okay. I would have had some other idea why they could have been "needed" and that's to get some deeper messages into todays music again. That's why I would suggest to everyone to do it themselves - there simply couldn't be enough people doing music with sense behind it in todays world since there seems to be currently too less of that.
Besides - your channel is blocked in Germany. o_0"
@NegroXFile ...that's great if you do music - so if you like the last poets' poetry why not try to do that too with some simple beats some time? you know like gathering opinions and writing your own textures besides the time your are doing your music you normally do......of course it's just a suggestion~ xP
@NegroXFile ...seee you don't *need* the last poets anymore! As pioneers they MIGHT even have everything done what they could do but you can always use their work as great reference and this stuff will live on like that. As long as this stuff is done in new generations too (even if it's not that good) it won't be forgotten and there might come some other great artists some time in the future again - maybe even take it to new levels. But it must live on to happen other wise it becomes history.
@NegroXFile Where can I hear your groups music? Have you ever thought about a progressive poet/mc of the highest calibar for your sets. If so maybe we can collab.
This.... the origin of rap in the united states... has not even 4,000 view, and yet our radios are tainted with the greed and selfishness of egotistic rappers without a revolution, meaning, or even reason behind their words.
Hip hop isn't dead, but it's sad that not even 4,000 people know that this is where it was birthed. Come on people - RAP FOR A CAUSE
@rappingslapper i agree my friend. Absolutely fruckin atrocious how they STILL underground, they are responsible for such a lot, hip-hop, rebelion, doin' ya own thing!! fighting up against the odds - they should be championed everyday for all these things.... yet we still live in a world where materialism vanity and violence is king!!! why???? cos that's what corporate man WANTS!
