That's a nice 13 pounder. Is this winter or early spring? You guys got a real nice wreck spot. And, are you guys using a single hook jig or double hook?
I was using an Avet Reel spooled with 40 LB Power Pro Braided Line. I tied an albright knot to a 20' shock leader of 30 LB Camo Mono. I was using a Shimano Casting Rod .
I like to tie a simple rig for tog. Usually just a Surgeon's Loop knot on the bottom to hold the weight with a dropper loop about 6-12" above the weight. Then I attach a snelled Virginia Style hook size 5 or 6 to that drooper loop.
Thanks for the info (& again for the vid). I'm fairly new to saltwater, and I've heard that tog really fight, pulling pretty hard. In this vid, I heard u mention that it was a heavy rod (as it was being bent by a tog) so I was curious. I gotta look up those knots and try to recreate that rig. Thanks again
Wow, that's a bigger tog than I ever caught. Tog take so long to grow and I really respect the older white chins. I always try to release the bigger ones. THanks for checking out the video. Sean

@WavesAndFish Not to be rude, but the north star's owner is an asshole...I work next door and he yells at me for nothing.
