  • were do you get those orange overalls?

  • how heavy rods were u using

  • what bait were u using

  • what bait are you guys using

  • they fight good but only get 1 chance to set the hook

  • nice.

  • What are you guys using for bait? Whenever I catch tog from the shore, I use crabs.

  • Wavesand Fish can you tell me if they serve alcohol in ocean city nj?? or is it ocean city in maryland that is free from alcohol?thank you

  • That's a nice 13 pounder. Is this winter or early spring? You guys got a real nice wreck spot. And, are you guys using a single hook jig or double hook?

  • That 13 pounder was a real nice fish....Im goin on a tog trip on the jamaica 2 for tog this upcoming friday.

  • My friend and I just went out on the Northstar yesterday and caught our limit including a 4 1/2 pool fish. We were in 50 -60 feet of water.

  • where is the north star located?

  • ocean city, new jersey

  • @WavesAndFish Not to be rude, but the north star's owner is an asshole...I work next door and he yells at me for nothing.

  • nice...how far out were you guys?

  • About 5 miles out. I'm going to fish that wreck again this week! Its one of my favorites.

  • tog omg. i love tog!

  • love tog fishing cool vid.....but shoulda left the music out

  • TOG fishing is the BEST!!!

  • Definately!

  • just a question...what kind of gear did u use?

rod, reel, rig, #test, bait, etc.

  • I was using an Avet Reel spooled with 40 LB Power Pro Braided Line. I tied an albright knot to a 20' shock leader of 30 LB Camo Mono. I was using a Shimano Casting Rod .

I like to tie a simple rig for tog. Usually just a Surgeon's Loop knot on the bottom to hold the weight with a dropper loop about 6-12" above the weight. Then I attach a snelled Virginia Style hook size 5 or 6 to that drooper loop.

    Live green crabs

  • Thanks for the info (& again for the vid). I'm fairly new to saltwater, and I've heard that tog really fight, pulling pretty hard. In this vid, I heard u mention that it was a heavy rod (as it was being bent by a tog) so I was curious. I gotta look up those knots and try to recreate that rig. Thanks again

  • I fish for Tautog in Point Pleasant Beach on The Dauntless

  • You're welcome. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Tautog fishing is very addictive.
