  • Anybody catch the "Heart of Ice" line at 1:39?

  • WHEN I FIRST SAW THIS EPISODE, SEEING THE ICE RINK AUTOMATICALLY MADE ME BEING SO SURE MR FREEZE WOULD BE THE VILLAIN!

  • THE SUIT HE WEARS IS ALSO SEDUCTIVE!

  • @2112murphy I was thinking the same thing. At least have a go yourself before calling in the caped crusader.

  • George Sanders is the better TV version of Mr. Freeze. But the REAL one will always be Arnold Schwarzenegger in Batman & Robin.

  • why was there a fire going in the fireplace of Bruce's study?the comissioner said it was July

  • Adam West was the best Batman. Every absurd line delivered with total conviction, perfectly replicating how mad Batman really is!

  • I thought he called him FAT MAN at 4:41 XD Btw were Batman and Robin supposed to be related? And I would be soooo embarrassed to run around in those outfits. :P

  • RIp princess Sandra.........

  • Did Bruce just imply that he and Dick were going on a double date with sisters? ... That's a bit wrong o.O

  • Colonel George Sanders as Mr Freeze.

  • Did Alfred walk up to Bruce while he was talking to someone and say, "The Bat Phone sir"? Very smooth Alfred. Very discreet :D

  • It's July in Gotham City and Bruce Wayne has a fire going on in his den.

  • Out if the three episodes I've seen of this series I've noticed that they have used the sane scene twice for when batman and Robin run into Police Headquarters could be because I'm studying media though

  • thank you for posting all these batman episodes. i realy missed watching adam west run around in tights with robin doing good deeds.

  • random pug: BATMAN!!

  • Heh, in the beginning the girl's scream was recorded and played over and over again!

  • SORRY CREATURE!? batmans an asshole

  • I also want an anti-crime computer

  • This is DEF. the best bat-man episode with mr freeze until the 1990's episode "Heart of Ice"(IMO)

  • That's a young Teri Garr at .24

  • At the start, the same scream is repeated like three times.

    'Ahh! Ahh! Ahh! AAAAHHHHH!'

  • To the Batmobile! *swoosh*

=D My older brother was always Batman. I was stuck as Robin.

    And I'm a girl. =\

  • Wow! Never seen THAT part of Gordon's office before!

  • why can't everyone stop reading gayness into this show and just enjoy it

  • just look at Robin's butt in those pants...holly cow batman!!!

  • Teri Garr, awesome.

  • id like to give a punch that sounds like zok

  • i NEED THAT BATPHONE

  • i wonder if it comes with unlimited talk text and web lol

  • I thought Preminger was the most difficult to work with according to Adam West's book, "Back to the Batcave". Was G. Saunders difficult to work with, too?

  • Sanders directed Sanders in "Forever Amber" as well as Batvillains Cesar Romero (Joker) ("Skidoo"), Burgess Meredith (The Penguin) ("In Harm's Way")

and Milton Berle (Louie The Lilac) ("Margin For Error", which Preminger also acted).

  • Looks like Bruce and Dick were having a gay old time lunching with those Gotham City Eagles boys. Good thing Aunt Harriet was there to keep an eye on them.

  • That's Terri Garr of Tootsie screaming for the cops at the beginning!

  • Why was there always a different actor playing Mr.Freeze? Sanders, Preminger and Wallach were great in their own ways. Why didn't any of these actors returned to the role?

  • I thought Wallach was the worst Mr. Freeze.

  • I agree! I really didn't like his performance. Do you know why Sanders wasn't able to reprise the role?

  • Comment removed

  • A cold wave... of terror.

  • Out of the 3 "Mr Freezes" Sanders in REAL LIFE was VERY difficult to work with. In the bio, he was an asshole to West, and crew. Yet as a "Freeze", we was good. AHNOLD, was an EH, but kinda ok.

  • CORRECTION: The 'difficult mr freeze' was

Otto preminger. ("Adam West, who portrayed Batman, remembers Preminger as rude and unpleasant."- wikipedia)

  • ya thats who i thought they said was the unpleasent one he was a horrible mr freeze so was the other guy THIS mr freeze is probably the best atleast in my opinion this is the best mr freeze and mr freeze episode lol

  • Sanders, of the 3, was the most tragic of them. He married and divorced one of the Gabor sisters(Eva and Zsa Zsa's older sister if I'm not mistaken). He commited suicide 6 years after he appeared on the show.

  • True, but he was a damn good actor. The likes of which we will never see again. I still think his portrayal of Mr. Freeze was the best on this show.

But overall, the best performance of Mr. Freeze still has to be Michael Ansara from the 90's animated series.

  • Wow that same scream is repeated four times!

    AAH! AAH! AAH! AAAaaa... x4

  • "Chilling news, Batman!"

  • What dastard villainy is this? Rampaging about reaking havoc on defenseless ice rinks. Now thats a badass!

  • thanks alot i really like u for posting this ...it brings back memories

  • Thankyou so much for posting this video. There were parts here that i had never seen before. Thankyou again!!!

  • Thankyou so much for showing this!!! Twice this was broadcast here in reruns and both times it started in Comissioner Gordon's office, so the first part was cut. Thankyou again!!!!

  • When I watched this show as a kid, I didn't think the cold puns could get any worse...that is until Arnold started kicking ice.

  • At 3:43 to 3:50 stock footage from Hi Diddle Riddle is re-used. Mr Freeze's suit are completely different from the one in LEGO Batman: The Video Game.

  • This series would have been so much better if they had some origins to the villains.

  • Origin at 4:55.

  • Mr Freeze was holding onto a fire extinguisher........

  • So Batman just assumed Mr Freeze was planning a crime and attacked him without any evidence? What a hero!

  • If I were Batman I'd say to Commisioner Gordon "Can you keep these guys in jail for more than five minutes" They must have one cell less than prisoners - one goes in - one goes out.

  • I've always liked Mr. Freeze. I don't know why.

  • @GS336 I LIKE HIM TOO AND BECAUSE HE HAS MORE POWER!

  • lol diabolical snowman!!

  • Some of my bat autographs :

Mr Freeze G Sanders card (vhtf since he died so long ago...I'd kill for a signed Mr Freeze photo lol)

Mad Hatter D Wayne signed photo

    Alfred sgd photo

Commish Gordon sgd photo (really rare these days)

Riddler Batman drawing (done by Gorshin himself , no way is it gonna be sold :D

  • I always like Sanders and Preminger both. Eli Wallach was just odd.

I suspect the influence ofPreminger was the reason Schwarzenegger was casted in that awful movie, whereas Sanders influence was when they were considering Patrick Stewart in the part.

  • I agree, Wallach just didn't work as Mr. Freeze. However, I would guess that the consideration of Stewart had more to do with Michael Ansara's animated portrayal than Sander's 60's version.

  • I like Sanders version best. He was much more fearsome than Preminger or Wallach.

  • Funny how those same people are walking by every time the Batmobile pulls up to Gotham City Police HQ...

  • Batman! Batman! Batman, Batman, Batman! Batman, Batman, Batman! Dadadadadadadadadadadadadadadadadada BATMAN!

  • orignly in the comics this villan was called Mr Zero

(see BATMAN IN FIFTIES for the first apperence of mr zero)

it was this episode that changed the name to Mr Freeze.

which was later changed in the comics.

(one of the interesting ways in which the comics were influenced by the media)

much later in the animated series the episode 'Heart of Ice' redesigned the chartur further. making him much more interesting.

  • Thank you so much for posting this. George Sanders had the best version, in my opinion. Otto Preminger and his "wild" was too corny for my tastes. Also, hated the ice collar concept they used for him and Wallach.

  • I agree, he was the best Freeze, but since he was the best actor of the three (In my opinion) that is to be expected.

  • Ditto. I love that scene where he expresses regret at having to silence Robin. He was the perfect combination of villain but also "classy gentleman."

  • @FanOfBats tnx my favorite episode

  • Unquestionably the best Mr. Freeze episode. I have been patiently waiting for someone to post this episode. The red 'hot zone' that Freeze has in his mountain hideaway was too cool for school.

I think that Sanders Freeze was the best of the three Freeze's based on how well written the episode was and how well designed the costume was. As good an actor as Sanders was, I feel Eli Wallach is the best actor of the three.

I dug Preminger's episode too. 'Wild!' Man, that made me laugh.

  • @MystikWizard

I think Wallach was pretty good too, though I prefer the look Of Sanders. Otto Preminger, meanwhile, was pretty much forgettable, and his story was the worst of the 3 Freeze stories in those series (IMO)

  • @rocknrollhell

If I had to go just based on the "look" of each character alone, I would go Preminger first, then Sanders, and then Wallach. Something should have been done with Wallach's hair, as that was just ridiculous.

But Preminger's portrayal was absolutely obnoxious and was a huge disappointment for me. Sanders should have had some makeup, but was definitely the best out of the 3 in terms of his character direction and portrayal.

  • So...Batman found out Freeze had some instant freeze chemicals, jumped to the conclusion it was for criminal purposes, and attacked him unprovoked?

  • what is your next bat-focus

  • I was thinking movie serials from the 1940s

  • that would be GREAT.

    id like to see them.

want to see them before i consider buying them.

  • Thanks for uploading. George Sanders was great as Mr Freeze. One of my favourite episodes.

  • This is the one I was hoping to see when I found your channel. Woo hoo.

  • If memory serves, Sanders played quite a serious, tragic Mr. Freeze which paved the path for the Animated Series version. Thanks.

  • I certainly see shades of that in the Rats Like Cheese episode where he is having dinner with Batman, talking about never being able to feel the warmth of a summer day. I believe that same quote was used in the Animated Series with Freeze's first episode. Why they let the character go to the dogs with Preminger and Wallach are beyond me. This version was by far the best.

  • I completely agree.

  • Thank you for posting this episode - it has the best cinematography of any Batman (in my opinion). Plus, now only four Batman episodes are not posted on YouTube.

  • I have only a few more. Some were already posted, but I might post the few I have anyway just incase if that guy's account disappears I still have mine. Also, there might be the off chance someone who subscribes to my channel isn't watching others. I checked, I have posted now 51 episodes, I am bummed I am running out but already know what my next Bat focus will be.

  • i forget george sanders was also mr. freeze.
