Beautiful video! I just wanted to comment on the use of a bit. As much as everyone commenting says bitless is the only way to be a 'true natural horseman', I disagree. Although I go bitless as much as possible, some horses do not prefer this. I know that my horse does not like pressure against his nose, such as with a halter or bitless bridle. A double jointed, rubber bit is what I use, and he is much more comfortable. There is no one way when it comes to natural horsemanship.

He can also count to nine, bow, and give me a hug with his neck. I'm trying to teach him the tricks your horse knows. Great video. :)

Dont your parents or owner or the horse get worried that you do things like rear without a protective hat and stuff? I went out riding on my horse with no tack and no hat and my horse is very very safe, but my grandma caught me and went crazy oops lol

Your very brave when you lay under your horse. I wouldnt lay under hannah coz she weighs 3/4 of a ton!she is huge! she's only 15.2hh but she's very chuncky) I wouldnt want to be crushed by her. for those people getting snappy towards me. im a good enough trainer to know what that girl is doing is not safe. she could get seriously hurt putting herself in the spot of sitting under that horse. let alone she isnt wearing a helmet. bad role model of a trainer. i went to school and learned from a amazing person about training and well he would never allow us to do something like this.
I know it looks dangerous when she sits under horse horse when it is sitting down but if she didnt trust her horse she wouldn't do that. Im not sure but Im guessing she didnt decide to try and lay under her horse untill a very long time into the training. She obviously trust her horse very much :) I dont know what sort of training you do but i tried natural horsemanship with a very green horse my grandma bought but we didnt get very far if I could get as far as she is it would be a miricle! lol!

That is kind of the point, of natural horsemanship, you do and can trust eachother. So it's not stupid, and I think, you have no idea what you are talking about.
It looks like you and your horse have an incredible bond... just one of the things I hate abot natural horsemanship is at :12 . If your horse were to spook or something, you'd be right in the way of it scrambling to get up or easily getting hit by its hooves. That and it's not natural and puts too much stress on the withers for a horse to lay on its back for too long. :19 is extremel dangerous too.

Clever tricks and you clearly have a great bond but I resent the use of the word 'natural'. There's nothing natural about asking a horse to sit on its rump for you.
As long as the horse isn't bothered by her weight, then nothing should stop her from riding it as long as she doesn't put great preassure on it.
And the natural thing about it all is that she doesn't use force or any whip or rope, but that with a simple gesture, the horse is WILLING to do anything for you.
You're probably right about her weight; as long as the horse is okay with it she should be fine, it was just my first impression.
Secondly, I would like to say again that they do clearly have a great bond and it's wonderful that the horse is willing to do so much for her. However, it cannot be called Natural Horsemanship. When you do bareback, your feet are nearly touching the ground. Can't you imagine how tough it would be for the pony when you're jumping on her? Anyway, nice horsemanship going on.

your video is amazing very inspirering! Whenever I watch it I always want to do natural horsemanship with my grandma's horse Hannah Shes a big Ardenne :)
Your very brave when you lay under your horse. I wouldnt lay under hannah coz she weighs 3/4 of a ton!she is huge! she's only 15.2hh but she's very chuncky) I wouldnt want to be crushed by her. She wouldnt mean to but she gets confused and a bit spooky. your vids are really good and some lovely pics :) Natural horsemanship is awesome!! x

for those people getting snappy towards me. im a good enough trainer to know what that girl is doing is not safe. she could get seriously hurt putting herself in the spot of sitting under that horse. let alone she isnt wearing a helmet. bad role model of a trainer. i went to school and learned from a amazing person about training and well he would never allow us to do something like this.

I know it looks dangerous when she sits under horse horse when it is sitting down but if she didnt trust her horse she wouldn't do that. Im not sure but Im guessing she didnt decide to try and lay under her horse untill a very long time into the training. She obviously trust her horse very much :) I dont know what sort of training you do but i tried natural horsemanship with a very green horse my grandma bought but we didnt get very far if I could get as far as she is it would be a miricle! lol!

wow srmrose... a bad trainer? It would seem better if you were even a trainer? if you are there is still no reason to say anything bad about her training... you need to think about others feelings.

That is kind of the point, of natural horsemanship, you do and can trust eachother. So it's not stupid, and I think, you have no idea what you are talking about.

It looks like you and your horse have an incredible bond... just one of the things I hate abot natural horsemanship is at :12 . If your horse were to spook or something, you'd be right in the way of it scrambling to get up or easily getting hit by its hooves. That and it's not natural and puts too much stress on the withers for a horse to lay on its back for too long. :19 is extremel dangerous too.

You're too big for that horse...
Clever tricks and you clearly have a great bond but I resent the use of the word 'natural'. There's nothing natural about asking a horse to sit on its rump for you.

As long as the horse isn't bothered by her weight, then nothing should stop her from riding it as long as she doesn't put great preassure on it.
And the natural thing about it all is that she doesn't use force or any whip or rope, but that with a simple gesture, the horse is WILLING to do anything for you.

You're probably right about her weight; as long as the horse is okay with it she should be fine, it was just my first impression.
Secondly, I would like to say again that they do clearly have a great bond and it's wonderful that the horse is willing to do so much for her. However, it cannot be called Natural Horsemanship. I'd like to show you what Monty Roberts said: pellinormadpeepsDOTmyfreeforumDOTorg/sutra12597.php#12597 I feel the same way, and I have made some more comments on that site.

she may be 2 big? but who cares they love each other they look like they have loads of fun, and that is all that matters. if you out grow a horse you can still ride it. it is just your ability.
