Je vais m'entrainer avec cette vidéo, pour mieux jouer ce morceau car on le fait en ce moment dans mon école de musique !! Mais nous on est 1 ensemble de clarinettes de 14 musiciens ;)
I think it sounded beautifully... The recording of sound on the video was a bit off... Also, one thing that would heelp clarinet one two and three would be the cl 4 with better dynamics and not breathing between phrases....
I also have this for ensemble, and we play it at this speed too,. it says at the top of my music 'allegretto molto moderato' not andante. Anyway, I think it's amazing, despite what anyone else says!
Interesting that it's entirely Clarinets but the intonation is really bad and there shouldn't be any squeeks. The tempo is off and there's hardly any dynamics. Where's the musical artistry?
Para mi gusto demasiado rapido ... se podria disfrutar un poco mas . El esamble , mejor dicho el arreglo esta genial ... pero habria que bajar la velocidad
ugh Andante, which should be at the top of their music, means walking pace!! though, in my point of view, i am playing this in a trio, i am the melody, anyway, when you're going slow it is very hard not to run out of breath, so they are trying to go a bit faster instead of running out of breath and sounding worse, but they should practice more i agree.
Andante..YES..."walking pace"..my first professor..made sure I knew that..he even demonstrated it..years later..one of my favourite pets/feline..named "Andante".and the other named "Allegro"!!
this is a beautiful piece...La Mer is another that is great for clarinet ensemble
It is a bit rushed, this tune was meant for relaxation...if the more dynamics it might of worked, but they were out of tune and rushing. All they needed was a bit more practice I think...
It is really good, but it seems as if one tiny thing is missing. Not 100% sure if it is intonation, but the whole ensemble does not seem to blend in perfectly...Just the little thing is not there to make me go, "yep".
i honestly never knew that there were like proper proffesional clarinet ensembles, im 15 and have been playing for 8 years now, i love playing so much and this band sounds really together, the tuning isnt too bad i dont think, though i did notice the squeaks rather a lot, i love the bottom notes on clarinet, bottom E sounds amazinging in exposed pieces like this at around 3:20
Actually, now that you have brought it to my attention, the style of the music completely wrong. Faure write this piece in a way that is meant to be relaxing; the recording does not meet that standard.
The bass clarinetists have what is commonly known as a "slap-tongue." It is quite annoying. Along those lines, the bass clarinets obviously do not know their piece. believe me, i could go on for ages.
The clarinet choir at UW-Whitewater did this last semester. I was on bass, (brave of them to let me - I've done ten years on Bb but was new to bass) and we had a contrabass too. Gave us a very nice rounded tone. This song was really fun to play.
I think the tempo is a little bit too fast, the bottom part could be softer, could listen to some orchestras' recordings that might help. More dynamic contrast.
Magnifique !!!!!!!

The arranger is not good. There are many chords which Faure hadn't written (nor intended). As everybody say, they should improve their tuning.

Well this was a novelty. I didn't think it would work on clarinets but it was really quite nice. The problems with tuning spoilt it a little.

eh, it didn't seem as if they were prepared for this performance...things seemed a little bit rusty :-/

It was okay, although I'm not sure about the tuning. I think the tempo should have been a bit slower though. Anyway, good work!

Thanks for adding this. I know what tune to play on my clarinet now :-)

If only they knew how to play IN tune. And together.
sauzachn 4 years ago
I think it's in tune. The only reason it doesnt sound in tune is because they're playin different parts :S
Loma51093 4 years ago
THIS IS NOT IN TUNE. you are deaf if you can't hear that they are out of tune. this is horrible.
TREVAAA1234 3 years ago 2
gee, really? Is tuning the only thing that you listen for?

It is just not a good recording/ensemble.

a good tone quality is quite hard to do on a clarinet, it takes years to develop a tone which sounds "beautiful"

A beautiful performance. Sincerity is always recognizable despite any limitations if one concerns oneself with what is important.
Drapetomanic 4 years ago
Yeah...a little out of tune, but it's still beautiful. I love your first clarinetist!

can you send me the music to this song please
thanx!

Yup, that'd only be moderately illegal. It's best to pay for it.
