  • Spent 30 minutes looking for something like this, thanks.

  • @Azminday

    NP~

  • @Azminday i spent 4 seconds

  • @Bosu hahahaha

  • I guess my turtle beaches work

  • wtf my headset plays them backwards...

  • @retsnom92 your probably wearing your headset backwards...

  • How many other people came here just to test their skullcandy headphones?

Why won't they label which ear is left or right... Why!!?!

  • Treblaine~

My wife just said that the reason they don't label the ear pieces left or right, is simply because it doesn't matter.

The basic concept is that you, aka the listeners hearing perception, always remains in the exact center of their left and right ears.

If you think about it, it just simply doesn't matter to the listener which is left or right.

The bottom line is that they stay consistently "seperated" regardless of their "relative" left or right position at any given time.

  • Ah, thanks, so it's like if the band is playing in front of you or behind, doesn't matter.

However I plug my skullcandy headphones into my PSP and Nintendo DS, which run complex 3D games. It can be strange hearing an alien shooting lasers at you from your right, when you see it on your left. Loads of 3D games depend on stereo sound.

But I guess portable consoles weren't top on skull-candy's priority, which is understandable.

  • It matters for me when I'm playing a first person shooter game so I know if I'm hearing an enemy on the left or right side... but for music.. absolutely does not matter :D

  • ffhk~

    I agree with you 100%

    Thanks for your comment~

  • it does for cod:P

  • I use it on flounder:P

  • for music it doesnt matter... but if you are watching a movie -- you want the stereo sound to be in sync with what you see on the screen.

  • @ 2DAMAX

    I totaly agree. Excellent comment

  • @2damax010101 that's naive.

  • lol I just did, barely got my skullcandy headphones

  • @Treblaine

    Thats a big 10-4 captin

  • thanks for that, it let me see if my speaker was broken.

  • thx for the video.

it helped me find out which was left and right :P

  • He didn't know that youtube supported stereo in regular quality. I thought it was only in high quality.

  • Just to avoid confusion, this video does play in stereo. If you can't hear it in stereo then there is a problem with your computer.

  • Fantastic ty sir fixed my lill problem 5 stars ^__^

  • RANDOM MAN:

Actually, This method doesn't work anymore. If you look closey.... directly under the video just under the lower right hand corner...

You will notice that you will "NOT" see the "WATCH IN HIGH QUALITY" and or the "WATCH IN STANDARD QUALITY" blue hyperlink.

If you try this method, I.E. the ".FLV" file extension method your video will only remain stereo for a little while, about a half hour or so, and then it will "REVERT" to Mono.

YT changed this when they went "HI DEF"

  • I dont see why it would revert to mono, and it does play in stereo when i watch it, are u saying that if I watch it long enough it will change to mono and if so how would this save server space or bandwidth???

  • RANDOM MAN:

    # 1

What video of yours are you refering to when you typed:

"and it does play in stereo when I watch it"?

I've been to your channel page and you do not have any videos posted of your own. Do you have another YT account?

    #2

I tested this method yesterday just to "MAKE SURE" that it no longer works and sure enough, the stereo video test I uploaded became "MONO" as soon as it was available for viewing.

    "THIS METHOD DOESN'T WORK ANYMORE"

Feel free to PROVE me wrong

  • Ok think we are talking cross purpose um no i was asking about this video not one I uploaded i have yet to do so, i was asking about weather this video would revert to mono after watching it for half an hr.

  • RANDOM MAN:

    O.K. I see what you mean~ :~D

The answer to your question on whether "THIS VIDEO" above us, will revert to mono is "NO"

The reason is that it was "POSTED / UPLOADED" over a Year ago when the YT "VIDEO ENCODING PROCESS' were different than they are now.

If you notice.... "ANY" of the stereo test videos on YT involving the .FLV file extension are all relatively "OLD"

This method does "NOT" work anymore.

It hasn't for at least a couple of months.

    Take Care~ :~D

  • No warries, pity though that low quality has to be mono now days.

  • RANDOM MAN:

It most certainly is a "PITY".....

    I couldn't agree more.

I understand "WHY" YT has "CHANGED" their upload video encoding process' yet again....

They changed it because they want to steer people toward "HIGH QUALITY" video uploads.

They are thinking of the "FUTURE".....

But it pretty much screwed up a totaly cool technique for "THE PRESENT" aka... right here, right now....

    Take Care~ :~D

  • Thx alot! exactly what I needed.

  • We All Get Lucky sometimes... Don't we! LOL

    Take Care!

  • Nice test now I know that I rigged my boombox the right way i put a headphone type cable to the radio audio out wires leading to the mainboard, i guess I hooked the wires up right lol

  • perfect

  • OMGWTFBBQ907: It works, doesn't it... LOL! ☺

  • exactly what i was looking for thankx

  • 09SEP: I'm Glad I could Help! Take Care!

  • O.K. Now I'm getting somewhere... Notice how the audio moves back and forth between your left and right speakers... THATS TRUE STEREO! Ahhhhhh, NICE!

I'd give myself 5 STARS but it won't let me... LOL

  • I gave you 5 stars b/c you figured out how to get youtube to have stereo videos they usually convert the audio to mono on convert

  • Hi, could you tell me how you tricked the Youtube compression software to leave the audio stream mono? I usually upload songs of mine wich lose a great deal of quality thanks to the mono mixing. Thanks.
