I agree with wiiminuteradio about the look of the graphics. It's VERY smoothly animated, and the music and graphics make it look very much like an old cartoon, which I love. I also love the kid's voice. Some games are better with more realistic graphics, but for a game like this, I can't imagine better.

Holy crap, I didn't even know they made this!  What beautiful visuals, perfect for this kind of game. It reminds me of Braid somewhat, and the music is wonderful too! And Blob is just adorable. Now I want to hug it too. Just from the looks of this video, it appears to be a very worthy continuation of its NES ancestor.

the original game could be frustrating but it was great because it really forced you to problem solve and think for yourself. Throwing these signs telling you what to use really defeats the purpose

it makes it ridiculous easy for adults/older children, and doesn't give the benefit of teaching younger children to think creatively to problem solve

And either way, the hand-drawn art direction of this game gives it tons of character, are vibrant and colorful, and look great as far as I'm concerned.

But if you're going to judge games you've not played based on "graphics" as you put it, there's nothing anyone is going to say to you that will change your mind. A shame, it's actually a fun game from a respected developer.

It really depends on what you like. I got my friend this game for this birthday and it seems he really enjoys it. I don't own this game but I played it. To tell you the truth, it's not as bad as it seems. The whole theme/plot is pretty cute and interesting. But the game does have cons. If you're a serious fighting/shooting game fan, this is NOT the game for you. This game is more smooth and relaxing.

Anyways, if you want to spend $39.99 on the game, the do so.

i have the original on the nes, which i didnt particularly like, but I've bought my brother this version for his wii for christmas as it seems like a nice improvement. however, the boy's calls sound like they could be very annoying after a while. i wonder if there's an option to just mute his voice lol

I was really looking forward to this, tho its not how I expected. It was sposda be heartwarming. Why so much death? The boy should swim? Im not saying he shudnt get hurt, but why culdnt he just hurt himself 'n the blob heel him? Why evil monsters? Why not have more interactive monsters to help in order to proceed. The music sounds too much and is either too epic, or too plinky plonky. The game follows platform game rules too closely. The boy shouts too much, and I'm struggling to like him.

Just so the developers know, the above criticisms are due to the game having so much potential. The art is fantastic, the music is very high quality and the game plays very very well. The game hasn't been reimagined enough in my opinion, and had the potential to be as groundbreaking as the original super mario bros (as did the original nes title). This game broke my heart in several places. I expect incredble things from a sequel though! May it come soon!

and third and final comment. The way the boy shouts is my huge problem, and I can only imagine its reason is the amount of danger around him. He sounds rude the way he bosses Blob around. They should sound like they're in it together, like a boy talks to his dog. "Hey Blob, look at this" in a playful wispa, and maybe make the power of his voice depend on how far away Blob is from him, and also what he says cud depend on what Blob is doing, and wot the boy wants him to do + an random element too.
