...make very good toast. I found a 1966 GE at a thrift store that had been dropped. I took both apart, and made one out of two. Eight years between them, and all the parts were interchangeable. Try that with today's toasters!
I love toasters! A toaster is the epitome of a single-purpose device, a rare and novel thing in this world of feature-creep. All it has to do is do one thing, and do it well. And sadly modern toasters are missing the mark. I'd been using a 1974 General Electric, and it made the best toast, crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside. It was starting to break down, so I tried replacing it with a hand-made Dualit from England, which sadly doesn't...
Nice, Chuck. My friend at a jam session last night Bill/William, who also plays keyboard, quite well,,may I add, told me to check out your vidio. Well,,, I think you & your wife are Cool !! I happen to decorate my toasters since it is Plain White,, Now has flowers on it. I saw the toaster that looked to be, ceramic,/with flowers,in your collection. I like that one. Oh, my name is Cecelia220 with a couple of vidio's on you tube. I live in TX.
I love old toasters, coffee pots, electric mixers and about anything that gets hot makes noise, etc and plugs into the wall ! We are the normal folks--it is everyone else that is nuts! LOL
I have and love my Electrex "swinger" type toaster. Someone visiting laughed at it because it looks so old. However, I wouldn't want any other toaster, since I can SEE and ADJUST the bread BETTER than any modern toaster.
I have a Astra by toastmaster 4 slice model D132.Any idea how old it is.Also can heat elements be replaced?people say just buy a new one.I don't want a new chinese junk toaster that will burn out in 2 yrs.I bought this toaster at a rumage sale 26 yrs ago. one element went out on left side.can it be replaced?
My grandma had a toaster similar to your mum's I kept an eye on it for years until one day I noticed it was gone, she had dumped it for one that toasted on both sides...I was angry that I hadn't spoken up and said I would've like it.
Cool collection... or, hot rather!

I came across an old (probably 1920 somthing) toaster in excellent condition.
Was thinking of expanding this into a collection and may still do so, but not 300., but I t hink it is really a nice collection he has.

No, it is a real toaster that does it on every slice of bread. I saw it in a magazine.

Does he have the toaster that burns an image of a panda bear onto the toast? That one is cool.

I wish this could have been a little longer and you had asked him about caring for and repairing toasters, etc. Otherwise, a great little short!
