im attending wtc, advanced welding,dude.......its so awesome, and we get so much practice too,we go at it all day, anyone got project ideas to make that i can try?
welding is actually a lot easier than i thought it would be when i first started out...7018 electrodes are actually the smoothest rods i have worked with so far...6010's just look too sloppy in my opinion...but yeah i run on dcep at anywhere between 90 amps and 100 amps and have little problems with sticking...the only position im really bad with is verticals, so next time i get a chance, im going to try it from the angle he was doing them from...might help...
I just started classes yesterday and the first thing out of my instructors mouth is "We are welding with 6011 cause its harder!! If you can weld with 6011 you can weld with anything!"
I graduated from Hobart Institute of welding technology. If you really need to learn how to weld I recomend attending their Combination structure/pipe progam. With the training I recieved from them I have held jobs welding boiler pipe, heavy equipment , and more repair than I can rember. All code I have ever welded to required 7018 a.k.a. 'low-hydrogen' to be run on DCEP meaning Direct Current Electrode Positive. Wonder if that's why he keeps losing his arc.
i graduated from yechnical HS and i took welding for 2 years but before then i had been welding since i was little, i prefer stick welding and my teacher recommended me to HIWT, is it better to take the combination class, cause i was looking into just doing pipe in 2G and 5G

I really want to buy this video! The welder kinda reminds me of Cheech lol from Cheech and chong. But yeah this looks like its defiantly its moneys worth.
I didn't know Mike Horner knew how to weld...Seriously, informative, as although I can weld, it is not a pretty sight, and I would like to get that "stack of quarters" weld. Well, thanks for the info, I shall use it wisely.
We are exporting USA and south America since 2006.and have a good maket already.we are going to plan to develop and enlarge your maket under our close cooperation ,passed quality and reasonable price.
If you want to be a welding inspector who is respected, you need to learn how to weld and get a few years's experience. I remember a weld inspector told my my weld wasn't good enough and I handed him my hood and electrode holder (called a stinger). He looked at me and asked what he was supposed to do with that. I said "Show me what you want."
He said "I can't weld." I said, "Go away and send a real inspector."
He tried to have me fired. Didn't work. They fired him instead. Every welder laughed..
I remeber I opened a little welding shop and the only welding machine I could buy was a small arc welder. I did everything with it, windows, doors, rails, I even had to weld sheetmetal with stick welding.
i'm 16, junior in high school in oregon. we just recently had a welding skills competition and i got first place in arc welding. Won a 225 amp arc welder, $250 scholarship, and a bunch of other little things like electrode containers and stuff
well guys as long as its fused with adequate penetration it doesnt fucking matter how you bevel etc etc. simple really, amd of course heat and keep it clean. done
yes, this video is for sale. for purchase information, look to the right of the video screen under "about this video". it gives all order information including price.
For MAPP GAS OF CYL,We authorized to air plain manufacture for welding our bottle to ensure gas will not leakage. The thread of MAPP GAS CYL has standdard size of CGA600,botte size are 75mm dia, 267 height. Portable soldering for using.
As for our MAPP GAS, Our burning temperature can be reached 1200oC under condition of anaerobic combustion welding. our MAPP GAS of burning time can be gottten 2hours and 40mins continuance.
I have a 120 arc welder. I use it for light stuff. But I am planning on getting a 220 amp welder. I am definately a beginner. Welding does rock. I got my first weld to stick together after a few tries. But now it sticks everytime. This little video helped.
just weld the same as you would a straight bead, making sure that you make a smooth bevel over the edges. clean all slag off between runs and stop-starts to endure minimal contamination and good fusion
What you want do is bevel the pipes to about a 1/16" landing. Weld it in a few passes, depending on the diameter of the pipe. Be shur to clean it good in-between passes, blend in the tows and use the correct amps. That's about it! Good luck.
I guess it depends on the pipes thickness, I mean man... make sure the pipe is thicker than it has to, then jus weld them two pipes together. and err... I donno, what metal would the pipe consist of? if its a NiCr steel for carrying acid or the like I mean... then you'd need one electrode. if its a MbFe steel for carrying extreme airpressures under short time, or if its like whatever it may be... jus ask some guy selling electrodes which type you should buy.
That all depends on the hours you put into it in that amount of time, your knack for it, your will power, your instructor's area of expertise and ability to teach what he/she knows, availability of proper materials to practice on and a good machine. Welding is practice, practice, practice and more practice. There's stick, gas, wire, mig and tig welding.
use a stick welder if you on a budget. A good wire feed from home depot will run $500 you can use flux core wire or to get even cleaner better looking welds attach an argon filled bottle and use mig wire.
this could be bad for your eyes..i just got a lincoln electric welder for working on my car..i have very little experience and this video will surely help
