  • fuck! where the hell is dimmu borgir?

  • Best Emperor song= The Warriors of Modern Death

  • Burzum ? And for Emperor, sorry, but Into infinity of Thoughts is their best song (I am the black wizards, Inno a satana too ..). I don't get your choice

  • @PsyloActiv I like them equally actually...for me it was a random pick. But yes..u could say that 'I am the black wizards' is a more logical choice, wich falls in the category of 'real classics' :P:P But hey...these are just my preferances. I'm here to drop my opinion, not other people's opinion ;)

  • and Tsjuder ? and Taake ? and Gorgoroth ?

  • I agree with the songs chosen for Darkthrone , Windir , Ulver and Satyricon though :)

  • @TheLuviathan Those are death metal

  • @kingdiamondtheeye You must be kidding me !? I mean i hope you're not serious. Just in case though, you ain't gonna teach me what BLACK METAL is boy !! Anyone here to educate this guy on metal basics?

  • @kingdiamondtheeye Oh shit i didnt see Drakthrone or Satyricon

  • @TheLuviathan Gorgoroth is death metal though

  • @kingdiamondtheeye

Hmmm, No, Gorgoroth is as Black Metal as they come dude

  • @ChronicBlaze93 They are like blacken death at best.

  • @kingdiamondtheeye

Are you trolling? Dude, They don't have a hint of Death Metal in their music, They are pure Black metal, On their Antichrist album it even has printed on the cover, "true Norwegian Black Metal" Why the hell would they print that if they are Death Metal, Seriously do some research

  • i am a newbie on this stuff.is A7X black metal ever in its career?

  • @khairowensullivan Haha sorry no. That is heavy metal. I hope u can see difference

between A7X and the ones in the list!

  • @DinkyDoeDoe thanx a lot dude.heavy, black, trash are in my blood.bieber in my ass.

  • where is taake? where is the old dimmu? (like stormblast '95) man...

  • @Slowdeathinhell Point taken...if it was a top 11 it would be in it :P

But this boils down to preferance. And besides stormblast i dont consider Dimmu as interesting for what bm has become. (and is considered to be).

Everyone is entitled to have their opinion :)

But taake?? I'd really skip that one. Good band. But to say influential...?

Characteristically...eeeh. Dunno. It would shrink to a small band compared to the

ones in this list. (*yes, thats what i think ).

  • black metal is gay whats with u MSI could be black metal so ur missing one band MSI

  • this realy RULES AND ROCKS \../

  • Oh and dont forget Blasphemy as well.

  • Awesome list keep it up, more!!!!!! Oh and just so everyone is clear Dimmu Borgir and Cradle of Filth are known as extreme metal, they are known to have out-grown black metal. those little fuckers.

  • a top 10 black metal songs is such a hard thing to do, its like pick 10 random Emperor songs haha, but of course there are many, Emperor is just without a doubt number 1

  • You forgot Dimmu Borgir! Hehe

  • I like death metal, but i never relly Got the point of black metal.

  • You need to hear Trivium's new song "In Waves" from there new album "In Waves", it's f***ing awsome

  • Thanks for this dude! I'm pretty new to BM and i got into it by listening to dark funeral. Can anyone suggest any other good BM bands?

  • @TheMetalhead804 i can tell you who not to listen to lol

  • Good list but I do think Gorgoroth deserves a place. Just a thought.

  • @ironjustice13 Yeah :P but the list has only place for 10. Preference issue ;)

  • Come on dude, Cradle of filth and Dimmu Borgir are without doubt the most widely known black metal bands even in mainstream society, especially cradle of filth. As if Nymphetamine isnt in here lol disappointed :(

  • @cyprokka yeah true. So? I don't think that gives me any reason to put them in this list. In my opinion CoF & DB is not what black-metal is about.

  • @DinkyDoeDoe Lol I agree actually. Black metal is not meant for anything mainstream. Its suppose to be underground and cradle of filth and dimmu borgir are as mainstream as black metal could possibly get. I guess I'm just more of a fan of the symphonic and melodic side of the subgenre. leaving those two bands aside, if you know of black metal bands from Greece you would probably know Rotting Christ. If not, listen to Athanati Este and Enuma Elish. What do you think of them?

  • @cyprokka I love rotting christ :)

But it wouldn't deserve a place in this list either. Not because it's not great . The above list is what I see as the most influential/prominent bands in their, own blackmetal-styles.

All these bands stand for a specific style. (RoC has its own unique style too. But I find it hard to categorzie it as an influential black-metal band).

  • @DinkyDoeDoe Oh! Well in that case you're right, Rotting Christ is great but not really definitive to the black metal genre. I would have personally started with a song from Venom (considering it was their 1982 album titled Black Metal that gave this genre its name) probably the song 'Bloodlust', and also Bathory was one of the first bands, I'd definitely put one from them. Just my opinion.

  • @cyprokka if you like symphonic, emperor is the way to go, cof is an embarrassment to music as a whole, and dimmu is quite disappointing now adays

  • @DinkyDoeDoe Well, I would say that early Dimmu Borgir, was black metal. Cradle of Filth has never been black metal. Too many little girls listen to them. Moreover Dimmu still uses black metal symbols. At least/

  • @cyprokka I hardly consider Cradle of Filth and Dimmu to be Black Metal. They've incorporated way too many modern elements into their style for the majority of black metal fans to even call them black metal.

  • @solidiquis1 Many black metal fans probably wouldn't refer to venom or celtic frost as black metal, but they were the first kind. If anything, Venom is the most Black Metal band out there considering they are known to pretty much be the first one with their album 'Black Metal'. They set the scene. All of the bands in this are from a specific period in Black Metal history and is why they all share characteristics that make it hard to place Cradle of filth and Dimmu Borgir in line with them.

  • Second Song reminds be alot of Varg ALOT! even the cover is somthing he would have used

  • i just realized i need a bigger fuckin mp3 player

  • sucks sucks sucks sucks ........ -_-

listen to metalcore you will see what music is !

  • @metalcoredude06 it´s okay thay you like metalcore, but don´t you think it´s a bit strange to telll it on a black metal video?

  • @gamingmetalhead1996 your right :\ srry its just that i was bord so i wanted to see what black metal was so , srry loll ;)

  • @metalcoredude06 haha! metalcore is bullshit. fucking poser genre.

  • @NiggeliNG dud no rythm , instrument sound quality is shit !!!!

  • WINDIRRRRRRRRRRRRR

  • D;

I respect you about your choices, but I don't understand why "Black Metal Ist Krieg" doesn't appear in this list

  • @arcsen2xcos3x Hehe, well ..there's many things that don't appear in the list =p

Bands like nargaroth, burzum, Tjuder , von, gorgoroth etc. don't really fit into this list. These are more distinguished/prominent bands in the bm-scene, that influenced many bands. These bands are in my opinion a class of their own. (in style).

  • FUCK YEAH!!!! /m/ damn I have an orgasm xD

  • @TheDarkAng3l666 The pleasure was all mine =P

  • awesome comp of kickass music

  • No matter what these so-called purists tell you DinkyDoeDoe, you compiled an amazing list. This is quite useful for people who want to hear some very prominent bands, and also a nice list to get into the genre itself. I thank you for this :) Spread the bleak madness!

  • @SilentWolftears Thank you, for your kind words ;-)

For people, who feel I missed out on the 'kvlt-troo-krieg'-shit, I refer to 'The True Norwegian Black Metal' -series.

    Thank you :)

  • this would be the best if they just didnt sing/scream seriously guitar drums awesome vocal kills it

  • @aCaptainJackSparrow I don't think you will find any black-metal without.... Therefore I'm surprised you ended up watching this video.

  • There is better black metal bands instead of these choices like tsjuder, gorgoroth, venom, mayhem(onthislist,,darkthrone, burzum, dimmu borgir and infernus solo singer with guitar and drum on speaker machines

  • wey t falto burzum idiota

  • @pistolebrio

You can't read can you? I never claimed this list to be a all-time toplist, to avoid losers like you.

  • @pistolebrio I don't even need to understand (Italian?) to agree with that comment

  • @pistolebrio at least he has ulver dude

  • Ulver fucking rules!

  • atilla is baas

  • Atilla is een hele zware baas.

  • @DinkyDoeDoe

    wie is atilla.

  • @undeathguppie Vocalist van Mayhem. Check het album -de Mysteriis dom Sathanas- voor een staaltje van zijn vocal-werk. Hij's ook bekend van aborym, Tormentor en nog een zooi bands.
