  • im considering getting a catamaran 16', and id' be sailing on my own a majority of the time. my biggest question is how would i hold/control the tiller, jib sheet/sail, and the main sheet/sail?

  • @Sutonma Have a fairly long jib sheet so it comes back on the trampoline, you can then set the jib and leave it. If you're trapezing you can hook the sheet into your hook so that you can still control it. With the tiller, sail with it over your back shoulder so that you can put your arm over the top to operate the mainsheet.

Your best option is to come to wildwind in greece where we teach catamaran sailing.

    cheers

  • @joeyenglez well, quite sadly there is not a chance that i will be able to do that in the near future, but i loved the vid

  • @Sutonma There are cleats that lock in the mainsheet and jibsheet, so all you really have to control is the rudder on any given tack. Have the mainsheet in hand in case you have to uncleat in a hurry, but its no big deal. The 16's are pretty well set up to be single handed.

  • Score 9.5, lost marks on the entry!!! Old Pete (Cowes)

  • Club vass got a web cam
